Technical error in DR - intentional?

Did Big Brother intentionally feed through the question directed at Mohamed in the Diary Room to the rest of the house, and if so do you think this was cruel ???

whoooosh 18-06-2008 09:47 PM

i cant decide really lol
it was quite funny tho
except alex took it way too seriously

_Tom_ 18-06-2008 09:48 PM

Wow, long thread title lol.

No, I do not think it was done on purpose.

aye, and that my friend was done on purpose

I think it was done on purpose. They were clearly having a conversation abput Alex. BB could have asked 'and how did this make you feel?' but they ask 'how did it make you feel that ALEX didnt take part? Why say her name?

It was also quite cruel. Especially since Alex acts like she would decapitate any housmate who is isnt 'ready'. It was unfair and to poor Mo on his bday aswell!!

ChelseaFan 18-06-2008 09:52 PM

It seemed intentional. They seemed to fit in the whole sentence.

Exactly

Bells 18-06-2008 09:53 PM

Thread title edited.

I'm not sure what to think. If BB truly wanted to stir things up, they'd let Alex hear his reply and not the question. Perhaps it was to invoke curiosity.

Matt 18-06-2008 09:53 PM

No, I don't think it was intentional.

The diary room is the only place in the house that the housemates can talk to Big Brother in confidence (unless, obviously, it is part of a twist or task).

Mohamed's conversation with Big Brother was clearly not part of such a twist or task, and as such I believe it was simply a technical error.

i cant decide i thought it was an accident but after reading some of your responses im not sure now

Spike 18-06-2008 10:13 PM

I don't think it was done on purpose, but I can see why people do because was the best thing to let slip into the house to cause entertainment.

Dan_ 18-06-2008 10:13 PM

I think it was a set-up just to try and cause conflict.

sol 18-06-2008 10:14 PM

No I think it was an accident. I can see why people do think it was intentional though.

Jase 18-06-2008 10:25 PM

I cant decide tbh
The reason they fit'd in the whole sentence is because they was pressing the button.. duh you dont hit the switch and look if ur in convo if you get me

But it is funny that it was that thing

Aint it in BB rules that all trips to the diary room are confidential. so it must have been a mistake.

andybigbro 18-06-2008 10:27 PM

I think it was an accident.

Emilee 18-06-2008 10:29 PM

i think it was done on purpose as it managed to get the entire question through the broadcaster,

rickisupforit 18-06-2008 10:52 PM

Definitely intentional - Alex's bullying tactics have been attracting BB and C4 bad publicity after the furore following Celebrity Big Brother with Jade, Shilpa, Danielle etc. I think they did it on purpose with the intention of winding Alex up so she went on the warpath and got herself thrown out of the house and it has obviously worked . . . Shame we didn't get to see her evicted - would have love to have seen all the boos!

Princess 18-06-2008 11:26 PM

They know the public don't like Alex and they know Alex is veru fiery,so I doubt they would risk Mohammed being heard when neither the house or the public would be impressed.

megaboost 18-06-2008 11:51 PM

Its funny how they managed to finish the sentence, yet block out Mohammed's answer. Quite intentional. Poor Mo didn't realise though & got it in the neck from Alex.

I think it was done on purpose

No. The Diary Room mic and the Announcer mic are two different mics. The announcer mic was accidentally switched, but the DR mic wouldn't have been. That's how they managed to get the full sentence but not Mo's answer.

when BB talks to the HM in the Diary Room, they have switches/buttons which they have to press on/off to talk...when they were talking to Mo, the person acting as BB would have pressed the wrong button (by accident) which would be used to talk to the entire house, meaning every speaker...it's very easy to make a mistake like that, if you've ever used that type of mixing desk, you'll know what I mean...you might look away for a second and take your hand off the button, and then come back to it, thinking it's the same button/switch...

they realised as soon as it happened, if it was intentional, they would not have brought Alex and Mo back in and apologised to them both.

it also explains why they only heard BB's side of the conversation...if it was intentional they would have played the whole thing on the plasma's.

Diary Room Speaker Incident Intentional

How on Earth could they just HAPPEN to play the line, "What do you think about Alex..."

Alex would then be fuming. She would then rule-break, which is what happened. And then she would be thrown out. Wasn't the last fight she had, still with Mohammad the next day?

It sounds all perfectly set up, but one problem: Why would BB want to get rid of one of its biggest stars? Sounds like this would be in reverse from their usual behavior.

The only thing I can think of is that they're trying to restore their image by taking responsibility. Why wasn't she thrown off for all the other times?

Why wasn't she put in jail?

If this wasn't intentional, this must be the biggest coincidence of all time.

Mrluvaluva 19-06-2008 08:41 AM

I am sure it was done intentionally. They most probably wanted to provoke an argument between Mo and her so they could justify booting her out. She may have been a high profile HM, but for all the wrong reasons. There were so many complaints about her, I don't think they wanted to run the risk of any controversy. Her comments were disgusting, and she definitely deserved to go.
