Do you have a strong accent?

I have a really strong, very deep South Wales valley accent. I didn't realise I sounded that Welsh!

People don't expect me to sound like that when I speak, I always get "Omg, you sound so different than I imagined!"

Sam! 29-06-2008 03:18 PM

Nope don't think so, quite a common accent. From Ketterin haha.

Lauren 29-06-2008 03:19 PM

Yes, I sound horrible (IMO).

Geordie/Mackem.

I used to have a Jamaican friend and he did this  Randomly start speaking in Jamaican Patois to intimidate.

Oh it works wonders to and to get the real benefits you need to master the art of sucking your top lip after every sentance, oh and run fast if they don't :joker:

Well Brits say that I have a really strong American accent, but I'm not considered to have a strong accent in America.

Nicky. 29-06-2008 05:11 PM

But when I talk to people who've never heard me before there always like omg your soo scouse! -

I dont even live in Liverpool! x

Firewire 29-06-2008 05:26 PM

My accent doesn't sound that Scottish but it does. It doesn't sound as Scottish as Mikey's. But It is different when you speak I can only hear it when I record my voice. I do speak slang alot the words that I say in slay are (hoose (house), doon (down), naw (no), aye (yes), wit (what))

Captain.Remy 29-06-2008 05:35 PM

I never sound like someone from Southern France because I am used to talk different languages all day long so I didn't get to adopt the local accent.
But when I speak English I sound like French and when I speak Russian, I sound like Italian, that's weird.

andybigbro 29-06-2008 06:20 PM

Hmm i am not sure.
I dont even hear my accent unless its on video etc.

I am scottish so i might if i was in a room with completely different accents.

Emilee 29-06-2008 07:07 PM

I just have anornthern accent, but people tell me i sound really posh when i speak

Kore 29-06-2008 07:10 PM

Ive got an accent like rachel (close anyway) im a fast talker. I get mistaken as a person from newcastle at times though lol!

Killian 29-06-2008 07:14 PM

In the county where I come from, we don't have a particular accent as such. It's a bit of a countryside accent, if you know what I mean. I'm also told I speak eloquently (an exaggeration I think) and I have hints of American and British (English, that is) in my voice. Probably from watching shows from those two places. That makes me sound like a couch potato though.

Rocko 29-06-2008 07:19 PM

I don't really have one, but I love Irish accents. I don't care what you're talking if you're Irish, I'll just nod and smile :D

Diablo 29-06-2008 08:58 PM

Quite a strong glaswegian accent, but I think I am still easy to understand, there are a lot more stronger accents than mine and some glaswegians talk really fast as well, but not me. I like my accent :bouncy:

stacey 29-06-2008 09:04 PM

I'm from nottingham but other people from other places say i sound northern so i'm not sure lol

Fom 29-06-2008 09:40 PM

I have a strong manchester accent, but thankfully I dont use the slang. My voice has edged more towards the yorkshire kind of accent now though, because I spend so much time in Oldham. I speak like...

"Im goon on t' bus na"

Its rather annoying, but all my accents are slowly dying because im taking diction classes for my acting.

Mrluvaluva 29-06-2008 09:45 PM

Nee way man. I 'ave a reet normal wun.

Spike 29-06-2008 09:47 PM

I used to have a Black Country accent but I have tried to get rid of it and talk better
