Great minds... I used to hate it, because I'm the shortest in my family. My dad's 6'0" and my mum's 5'5" (which is taller than me, at least).

I quite like it now though! :spin:

violet 04-07-2008 03:51 PM

I used to be the tallest in my class, when I was 12, but then the boys caught up . I'm still growing, but I don't want to grow taller than 5'8 :conf2:

Tends to waver between 6'3 and 6'4, but I'm probably somewhere in the middle officially.

...Don't get me started on leg room on busses and airplane seats!

Wow, Surely you can apply for extra legroom in economy class? Like the row where the seats are by the door?

They are the worst seats EVER. We got allocated them this year when I was going to Magaluf and it was so bad. There was a wee boy in the row in front who kept fiddling with the door and I was so scared, not to mention there was a draught coming from the door (I'm positive) & the seats are away from the wall so there's nowhere to lean AND there's no window! /rant.

The seats at the very front are the best, just normal seats but with loads of leg room & a tv in front of you! We got those on the way back, I really liked those seats. :cheer2:

Some airlines are now charging for extra legroom seats. When I was coming out to Spain I was shopping around and one airline was £14.99 on top for the extra legroom (not a seat upgrade, just the fire exit I presume). I figured it was just about worth it so I don't have to sit squashed up for a few hours, but when on the booking confirmation screen it was 14.99 each way! It's funny you can buy a seat on a plane for as little as £15 if you get it as soon as it comes online, but then you end up paying £30 for legroom, £30 tax, £8 for bags and then whatever you spend on the flight for food drinks.

The problem with fire exit seats nowadays are unless you check in before everyone else, chances are some other tall person has already got them meaning there's nothing left... and I don't know about you, but I hate sitting around the airport for hours upon end (unless it's a big london one where's theres loads of shops, that sell things other than out of date books and magazines )

If it's not the £3.99 a bag (each way) some airline companies are now charging, or the £5 a sandwich on board, they always find a way to get some extra money out of you!

Rant over!
