personally i cant stand mates smoking around me and i really dont get why people do it lol, but do you?

I used to smoke when I was 14,15 and 16 but I realised I did it for no reason and I stopped. :bouncy:

Yeah, but I can kinda take them or leave them, I'm not addicted. But when I'm in work, a ciggie on my break always perks me up, and after 6th form etc. I smoke a lot more when I'm drinking too, but I'm not addicted to the point of 20 a day, some weeks I go through 1 pack of 10.

Nah I don't smoke, I hate them to be honest but i'm not a kid of person who'll go round to people and say 'give up smoking! It's a dirty habbit!' since it's up to the person if they wan't to smoke or not.

Im what you call a "Sociable smoker".
Im not addicted and I can stop when I want, I have a few now and again, when Im drunk I go through 10+. When I'm stressed at college I tend to have too many as well. But Im no smoker :P

I do that! Well only to people I know. I don't smoke and I never will. I don't know why people ever would smoke,everyone knows its ridiculously bad for you.

NEVER! Vile habit, I hold my breath whenever I walk past someone smoking. I refuse to let their stupidity kill me slowly!

nah i dont smoke,occasionly i do if im extremely drunk butnthats only like one or two ciggerettes twice a year or so and even then i feel awful it and hate the taste the next morning.

Yeah so people shouldn't shorten their lives by smoking.

No I don't, I used to have a friend, and she smokes, and would try and get me to try it, trying to pressure me into doing it, she disgusts me though because she told me she was pregnant, yet she's smoking over 20 a day. I find it disgusting and even more vile when someone smokes whilst pregnant.. just though i'd say.

I would rather 60 kickass years than 80 pisspoor ones.

Anwyay, i think im in legend and foms boat with this one. Social smoker. Not addicted. Normaly if im standing around with nothing better to do, ill whip out a cigarette and light her up. The only time I smoke ALOT is when im drinking.

I would stop smoking if I did not think I would become a non smoker. People like Gazbo are the worst advertisment for non smoking.

When drunk I smoke, but only 1 or 2.

Why because I want to live a healthy life rather than a life ridden with the side effects of smoking. Smoking kills and I won't let it get me.

Life kills. Some people want to fill their time here on earth by smoking. Leave them be. But by claiming their stupid for a choice they have made, you are spreading hate. And thats some bad ****. You can live your healthy life. Nobody is stopping you.

People are stopping me everyday by forcing me to breath in their smoke. I may be hateful but at least I'm clever enough to stay healthy and not smoke.

Oh give over. Hold your breath when you walk past them, if you are that paranoid, just like you said. Complaining about passive smoking is pathetic.

Secondly, dont use the word clever. Dont put your self on some sort of intellectual pedestal just because you dont smoke.

You don't have to be a genius to to know that smoking is bad for you. My grandfather died of lung cancer, my aunt in law had a heart attack because of it, and my uncle can barely even walk and has to take about seven different pills a day because of smoking. And that is why I will NEVER let myself and my body have anything to do with smoking.

I'm not against smoking cos of the health implications - they're minimal, and it's not causation. Plus, it's someone elses life not mine!

I just see the price of cigarettes vs. what you actually get from them, as a weighted argument.

But seriously, I don't care about other people smoking. It's their vice, we all have them.

Who said you have to be a genius? Every smoker KNOWS its bad for you. But they do it by choice. Because they like it. And you only live once. Im not about to stop them or put myself on a moral pedestal.

Still, I like how you avoided all the arguments to bring your family into it, which is incredibly unfair. Sure, you have your reasons for not smoking, but others have their reasons FOR smoking, so just leave them be!

The government is already spending enough telling us not to smoke!
