Why is crap a bad word?
 

I am an American .. but why is crap censored here?

Some people see that as a swear word aswell as god. But I dunno why.

I agree, it isn't a bad word in the slightest.

Its not the strongest of swear words but it can be used in a derogatory way I suppose

And, earlier I referred to a housemate as an arsehole, and it didn't get filtered either.

The TiBB filter needs fixing, methinks.

Not that I think forums need to have filters in the first place.

I'm anti-filter too Jakeh.

But, a lot of forums have them.

I just don't find them necessary.. not these days at least.

So-called "bad words" are so common in society that it makes absolutely no difference if they're featured on a forum here and there. Also, aren't you supposed to be at least 13+ to join this place? By the time people are 13 they're aware of "bad language."

I don't think it matters if members are 'aware' of swearwords, but it's whether they become desensitised to them. Just because we ourselves don't find it offensive, some people grow up to believe it is and are offended when someone uses that word.

That being said, if crap is censored... there are some words that should also be censored.
