On the 25th of August it will be 7 years since the amazing and very beautiful singer and actress Aaliyah passed away.

Yeah i remember it so well.. Then few weeks later 9/11 happend, bad times. When she died her song was played loads on the radio... A huge loss for her family and a loss for music...

Yeah I love this one to. There are so huge names in music in that video..Toni Braxton, Missy Elliot, Jamie Foxx, DMX, Lil Kim ect ect, She was really well respected in the music buisness.

Deffo! I think everyone respected her even if they werent into this type of music. I think its really sweet what they did in this song (how they all said things between the song) x

I got quite emotional watching that video for 'I miss you' again. Its a really sad song, could be used for anyone thats lost someone special to them. :sad:

Yeah, She was on the way back form shooting the video for that song and the plane she was on crashed.

I too am like Ray, not heard of her before this thread, but Ive followed the links and yes she seemed a real talented artist.

I'm so sorry that one of your favourites has passed like this and at a young age too, all due respect to her.

Lovely thread - I can't believe it's almost been 7 years! She was so talented and it's still so upsetting to think that she died. :sad:

Yeah she's still hugely popular in America. Artists are still releasing tribute songs for her. She was only 21 and she had major success in the movie and music industry.

She was also in some films, Romeo Must Die and Queen of the damned. My sister got more than a woman on CD when it came out.

I don't know her, how did she die?

She was flying to Florida after finishing a video shoot in the Bahamas when her plane crashed after take-off.

I miss Aaliyah. :sad:

Not really a fan, agree with Gazbo.

Her plane crashed because it was too heavy though, they had too much equipment and stuff that caused it to be above the weight limit.
