Why does Amy Winehouse keep getting gigs?
 

Is it just me or are her festival performances absolutely terrible.

I love her music and her voice, but they are getting worse and worse. Thats proper talent out there, talented people who would kill for a chance to peform at Glastonbury and V and when she is up there, its an absolute joke.

Shes terrible at the moment, and yet she keeps getting these gigs.

People like Rachel (X Factor) have to audition and go through an emotional process to get where she wants to be, yet she has 100 times the talent of Amy at the moment.

How do you feel about the issue and her festival shows?

I think it's a shame, and a waste of talent. She is talented, just doesn't show it or put effort in.

Problem is, there is a demand for her. People WANT to see her at festivals, and where there is demand there will always be supply.

I have to say I love her! Druggie or not I think shes awesome

Although I do wana take her home and help her get clean

Theres no saying it was good. It has good bits, but the overall performance was sloppy, lazy and just crap.

Her music is fantastic, sadly these days her live performances are dire!

Waste of Talent..... and your right Chris, I dont know why people book her for gigs. But I imagine that it has something to do with publicity, she will either do a bad performance and get it all the papers or a knockout one (see what I did there??? :wink:) and get in all the papers

She was crap at V but had a great show at Chelmsford.

I didnt see her at the Oxegen festival but all my mates went and said she was amazing!

I love her music but she is just a trainwreck at the moment. Her performances are awful, I thought her Glastonbury one was ok but the last time she performed really well was at the Brits.
She just seems like she cant be bothered to be there when millions of people would kill to be up on stage performing.

Did you see the video of her hitting this middle aged woman cos she put her hand on her arm? She just went mental and she was with her god daughter as well-not the best role model ever?!

Amy is going too far with her striking of random members of the public. One day she will get it back twice as hard. Thanks for the link.

Because no matter how pissed or ****ed up she is, she's still insanely popular. And the people organising these gigs are gonna pull in a lot of money if someone like Amy performs.

She has a pretty big hardcore fanbase who don't care how shitty her gigs are, they just keep buying the tickets, hoping she'll show. She's gonna keep getting booked while people are paying to see her.
Personally I love her, and as long as she keeps making music I'm not too bothered about what state she's in, and I wish everyone would stop moaning about what a bad influence is. She became really famous because the tabloids watched and reported her go completely off the rails, whilst complaining that she's an awful influence on young people. I felt the same when those pictures of Kate Moss snorting were published, because in SO many tabloids along with the pictures they spoke about her doing things like this in the public eye. I just feel that a lot of tabloids are to blame for the public's opinion on a lot of celebrities, and that if they don't like the impact that it's making what the public see these celebrities doing, they should stop publishing things about them
