A new TV show from the creators of Lost and Alias has been announced. 'Fringe' will air its pilot episode in the UK on SKY 1 at 9pm on Sunday the 5th October. It is being described as a new X-files.
The show is Projuced by J.J Abrams - behind hit disaster movie 'Cloverfield' and series such as Lost. The series is also from the writers of Transformers.

Synopsis:
When Flight 627 lands at Boston’s Logan Airport with no signs of life on board, a special task force led by FBI Special Agent Olivia Dunham is sent to investigate. Olivia's partner, Special Agent John Scott, is almost killed during the investigation, which leads her to seek the help of Dr. Walter Bishop, an incredibly brilliant man who has been institutionalized for the last 17 years.

Since Bishop's son Peter is the only person who can arrange a meeting, Olivia is forced to let him in on this mysterious situation.
After Olivia's investigation leads them to multi-billion dollar corporation Massive Dynamic, the entire team soon learns that what took place on Flight 627 is just the tip of the iceberg.

I was expecting a rip off of Celebrity Scissorhands then...

the pilot has had mixed reviews
but I will be watching because anything by J J Abrams is usually brilliant

I know ^ nothing by Abrams has ever been bad

Sounds quite similar to Lost..I mean with the plane and scientific stuff.

The UK Premiere will air October 6, 2008 at 9:00 p.m. on Sky1 and Sky1HD.

This got great reviews over in the US, I'm going to give it a watch later.

it has been getting great reviews over in the US for the premiere ! Sky1 aired thier first advert for Fringe already, so it must be good.

I'm sure there was more posts in this thread :conf2:
Anyway I'm currently downloading the pilot, it's taking a while though, I'll post what I thought of it when I get around to watch it.

I want to watch this but I watch too many US shows now so I don't want to add to it because I will get confused
