Litter

Oops.

Ok, I know I made a thread before, but this is more of a debate and less of a moan.

Do you drop litter, or throw it out your car window? If yes, why?
Does litter annoy you, do you think it's lazy?

Ninastar 03-09-2008 07:57 PM

TBH if its something i need to litter like i am gunna be sick and sick in a bag on the way in a long journey i will stop and put the bag in the grass o where ever we are. I know its bad the the smell of sick make me even more sick lol :conf2: .blush2:

I HATE how People just chuck rubbish on the floor even though theres a bin like 5 ft away from them ! ARGGGGH seriosly its like move your a*s and PUT IT IN THE BIN.!!! I also hate when people chuck fags on the floor its just so EWW it cause fires too! and thats not nice lol .

Magic 03-09-2008 07:57 PM

I hate it.
Why do peopel even bother dropping it? So lazy!
There are bins, you have arms!

Tom 03-09-2008 08:00 PM

Not out of a car window, thats just trampish. But if there are no bins about and its too big to fit in my pocket (like a can or something) then I will drop it, but I won't just drop it and let it go I'll make sure its against a wall or something so its not in peoples way.

bronaaaa 03-09-2008 08:00 PM

It really irriatates me when people throw litter, i always pick it up if i drop it. And when people through chewing gum on the streets ugh. :yuk:

At least its not out the window, but tbh I dont think a can will get in many peoples way, and if you drop it nicely or not, and the end of the day your still dropping it. And surely you could carry it home?

It depends if I'm going out or not and where I am. If I know I'm near a bin then I'll wait but if I know the bin is ages away then I'm just too lazy although some times I do throw them into peoples recycling boxes if I'm near one (and assuming it can be recycled).

Ninastar 03-09-2008 08:11 PM

I mean like i will get out the car and put it fr away not like in the middle of the street or like out the window when were going 70mph lol. I would only put it on the side if there was no bin there anyway lol

MrGaryy 03-09-2008 08:13 PM

I never understood littering. Like I could never picture myself just dropping something on the ground as I was walking, it would feel weird! lol. I gues it has to do with how you're brought up.

I'm getting deja vu.

I did, untill I got a £75 fine for it and now I've stopped. I do still throw my ciggies on the floor though if there's no bin with an ashtray around.

I really wish I cared about littering, but I don't, and I feel bad for not feeling bad about littering but I just don't :(

Am I bad?

Yes. Go to jail, do not collect £200 when you pass Go.

I always put things in the bin, it's just lazy not to.

30stone 04-09-2008 12:56 AM

Nope never do.

I didnt whilst i was in school because i didnt want to pu the school cleaners out of a job.

Princess 04-09-2008 01:20 AM

Never littered,I don't see why people do. There are plenty of bins around. I feel guilty if I'm holding something and it blows away!

Well if a kid is walking down a street with a chocolate bar or something and just leaves the wrapper on the foot path and the parent doesn't do anything, the obviously that kid is going to frow up to be an adult that litters. But if they are reprimanded or shown not to do that, they will know the difference.

Marc 04-09-2008 02:35 PM

People who litter anger me!! I hate littering and I don't see the reason in it, except for maybe they've not been taught properly as a child! Its disrespectful and really slobbish, don't be like this people, its ridiculous

bananarama 04-09-2008 03:42 PM

Never any excuse for litter. If there is something in a car you want rid of then keep it in the car till you get home and then bin it.....Cans against walls how silly........Take it home and bin it.......

Littering is just reckless anti social behavour by those that have no consideration except their own initial comfort.....

Remember litter louts you and others will pay the extra rates for clearing up your mess........

If you want a tidy Britain get a tidy mind............

My parents wouldn't dream of littering and they always told me not to, but I did ....

So I don't think 'upbringing' has anything to do with it.

I was never told not to litter but I think you're a tramp if you do litter where there are plenty of bins around, throwing things out of car windows etc, well if you know any better anyway (ie you're not about 5). But being told not to litter could have the opposite affect, kids like to rebel against what their parents tell them.

But in effect, you're doing exactly the same thing regardless of whether there is a bin 5 metres away or 5 miles away, you are still littering so you're a tramp too, just a hypocritical one.
