C:BB - Jan 2009

Anyone know what date in January C:BB is starting?

Im guessing January 2nd... because i think thats a Friday. It normally starts at the beginning of Jan, so that might be possible.

Yeah, that's what I would have thought. Launch nights are always on a Wednesday, Thursday or Friday so it will either be the 2nd or the 7th (Wednesday).

Spike 14-09-2008 03:39 PM

I think we will have a Sunday launch for it

No, I highly doubt this. Channel 4 "want to come back with a bang" and they won't if they do a Sunday launch because Sunday will have tougher competition and the launch might only make a million-ish viewers.

There is no competition for Big Brother's audience on a Sunday night. Only really Dancing On Ice which wouldn't be on for another week or two anyway. I could see it launching on a Sunday

arista 14-09-2008 03:49 PM

They have to get the celebs (and many extras)all out there
so I think 2nd week of Jan

dupin 14-09-2008 03:49 PM

CBB always does better anyway, because it's easier to create interest beforehand with rumoured celebrities - if it goes well, the summer series could have a lot more veiwers as well.

I guess we can't really say that there won't be any real competition because we don't know the TV listings yet.

Well they've managed 5.8m and 6m on a Sunday before for CBB3 and 5 finals.

It will probably launch the following Thursday anyway (8th). If they want ratings I don't think they're daft enough to put it out on New Years Day.

Imo, the CBB launch would do great on New Years Day. Everybody stays home on that day, its like Christmas.

Mickster 15-09-2008 03:04 PM

Yep

My bet is on the 8th.

They did the Wednesday launch thing for CBB5, BB8 and BBCH and didn't like it, returning to BB7's and CBB4's launch day of Thursday.

Since the first Thursday of the month, the ideal date usually, falls on new years day, that won't work. So they'll probably go for the next Thursday which is the 8th.

BB9 launched on a Thursday. BB hasn't launched on a Friday now since BB6.

I reckon 28 days. Exactly 4 weeks.

Sam! 20-09-2008 11:37 AM

I'd say 29, starts on a thursday, four weeks later ends on a friday

Last year I only recognised one, Dirk and only because I'd seen him in old episodes on UKTV gold of the A-TEAM and a really crap film on movies24.

Even 1 recently ex-soapstar and a member of some 90s girlband would do.
