Taking secret missions too far?

BB Bulgaria introduced 11 new male housemates the other day. Amongst them was Toshko who the audience were then told was mentally handicapped. This is in fact untrue. When inside the house, Toshko was called to the diary room and the audience discovered that Toshka is in fact on a secret mission to fool the housemates into thinking he is mentally handicapped. He is only allowed to tell 2 other housemates the truth.

Pretend couples and getting housemates to dislike you is okay - makes good tele. But there is something about this secret mission that I just find very very wrong.

If they did that here, they would be lots of complaints, and I would understand. But i guess if Bulgaria are doing it, and Im sure they wouldnt do something that is too far over there.

If that makes sense.

When I read that on the website (it's Bulgarian I know but it's close to Russian) I was like 'Did I really get it or did I make a mistake ?'
Then thanks for the confirmation Aaron.

Well, the producers said they will take the show in a complete new dimension: all girls launch, all living in a plane in the garden... But I didn't expect that, it's shocking but I believe that without no controversies, Big Brother, no matter which series in the world, would have never 'existed'.

If we take it as a task, then BB Belgium takes it all. But I agree, it's a bit too far.

Imagaine the complaints and work for Ofcom if this was in the UK
I would love to see a controversial secret mission like that in the UK version

hmmmm

i think it's gone a bit too far: makes a mockery about the mentally disabled who IMO don't deserve it, and that's coming from someone who HATES politcal correctness.

If he had like a twitch or an annoying stutter it would be funnier. for me anyway i spose :S

agreed that it totally wrong, wrong, wrong.

My OH has told me that during World War 2 very occassionally prisoners of war PRETENDED to be mentally ill on the hope of being sent back home. They where warned that if they did it they could end up being mentally ill and not returning to "normality". Unfortunately some of them did. Not the best way of trying to escape in my book.

If this very stupid task is being untaken lets hope it is not for too long. :conf2: :nono::nono::nono:

Update - apparently it was just one prisoner, I think OH said he was in Coldiz, but yes he was never right again.

LOL.

But seriously, I don't see the point of the secret mission... I mean they might as well ask him to pretend to be a racist or a rapist, but that doesn't mean the pretense is funny or "controversial", it's just a bit sick.

Legend 30-09-2008 01:32 PM

Well the picture made me laugh.

I'm sure some of the UK housemates could have done this one justice, they weren't too far off anyway without the mission.

Palmz87 30-09-2008 05:09 PM

I agree.. that's kinda freaky :S Disabled people don't really deserve that!

Simple_Plan 30-09-2008 05:13 PM

that task has stepped way over the line!!!

Brekkie 05-10-2008 08:29 PM

You'll never guess though what he won for passing the task though...

... A BABY!!!

Well, nearly. He won IVF treatment for his wife. Presumably it's to have a baby with him, not any random bloke she chooses.
