What are your parents like?

Do they ground you?
Do you have a curfew?
Is there anything you can/can't do?

AlexBigBrother 05-10-2008 09:54 PM

dont have a curfew at the weekened
dont ground me really - coz i dont really act that bad
cant break the law/swear infront of them

supernoodles! 05-10-2008 09:54 PM

hannah. 05-10-2008 09:54 PM

i'm not allowed out of brighton
and i'm basically constantly grounded.
my curfew is 6.30 unless pre arranged :bored:

Tom 05-10-2008 09:55 PM

No, no and no :colour:

They've never been that strict. Now I'm older though they have no control over me anyway

King 05-10-2008 09:55 PM

They let me drink, swear, don't have a curfew and never ground me. They're not strict in the slightest; they're souuuuund!

pinkmichk 05-10-2008 09:55 PM

i live on my own now but my mum still thinks she can tell me off over stuff (normally when i tell her i have had another tattoo or piercing she doesnt approve of them)
my dad on the other hand is cool and the only thing he gets on my back about is getting into debt

LemonJam 05-10-2008 09:56 PM

Them: Strict Christians.

Me: Bisexual who drinks, swears, smokes and isn't Christian.

Home time is happy time.

I do love them though, not matter how much I don't get along with my Dad, I'll still love him.

Shaun 05-10-2008 09:57 PM

No...I'm 18. But my mum doesn't like me swearing. Doesn't mind me drinking/going out, as long as I tell her where I am. [before she declares me missing ]

And my dad lives elsewhere.

SiaSiaSia 05-10-2008 09:57 PM

Never been grounded, Never had a curfew really - but like my Dad's like "when do you want to be picked up?" after things I go to and stuff.

And ever since James came into my life they're lenient. I basically travel everywhere now, as long as they have the details where I am and who I'm with and my phone's switched on.

"Mum, I'm going to Kayleigh's party in Brighton."
"Oh, and how are you going to get to Brighton?"
"Oh, James is coming,"
"Oh, Ok! have fun, don't be back before Tuesday though 'cos we're going to Sweden,"
"Oh, Ok."

Well they are Italian who are normally extremely strict, but they are not very strict with me, they are with my sister(who is 19), because they are very protective of her.

Sometimes, it seems they want me to go out all the time, because Im always talking and giving them headaches, so I get to go out alot lol
On weekends, I dont exactly have a curfew when im out with mates.

They have great fashion sense, they shop in River Island, Topman/Top Shop, all those places.

They say I should go to bed at 11 before I have school(soo right now lol), but they normally forget it now. I stay up later than both of them and watch TV downstairs alone with my siter(sometimes until 2 or 3).

They say quite a lot "Why dont you go out?" which makes me laugh.

They say Im aloud to drink, I just have to be careful, they say there not going to feel sorry for me if i feel ill after a drink and that I have to deal with it myself. Ive never got drunk yet, so Im quite glad.

NO to smoking, I hate that anyway, filthy!

They say that I can get a tatoo when Im 16, my Dad might come along too, but no piercings yet.

My mums like my flat mate, we talk to each other as if we are best friends.
Don't really class her as my parent that much, I do respect her a lot though, I never swear in front of my mum or anything and I still make her tea and all that.

We dont restrict each other at any time, as long as I respect her and she respects me we are ok. If I turn up at 5am in the morning then I have the respect to not wake her up and not bring 50 people back with me... although i have done in the past haha.

I wasn't allowed to go out past 11pm, they locked a couple tv channels with a password so I couldn't watch some shows I wanted to watch and I wouldn't be allowed to have guy friends over. I never got the sex talk from my mom or dad. My parents are prude.
I didn't like my parents when I lived with them. When I moved out, I realized how much I depended on them. Now we're close.
