X FACTOR beauty Dannii Minogue has taken a pop at her rivals Simon Cowell and Louis Walsh, claiming they are her biggest enemies on the show.

Speaking exclusively to the Daily Star, she lifted the lid on her bust-ups with the men she calls “Mr Squarehead” and “the Leprechaun”.

She and one of her contestants, Rachel Hylton, are said by show insiders to have already “come to blows”.

And Dannii admitted that the backstage backbiting among judges and contestants was likely to get even more bitter as the first live show hits our screens tonight.

Dannii, 36, was rumoured to have fallen out with fellow judge Cheryl Cole, 25. But she insisted the Girls Aloud star was her pal – unlike Louis, 56, and Simon, 49.

Dannii said: “It’s Mr Squarehead Cowell and Louis the Leprechaun I’ve got to keep my eye on. The only fight Cheryl and I will have is over who will win this contest.

“I’ve got my boxing gloves on. So...Ding-ding! Round one. Here we go.”

Gossip has it that Cowell now flirts with Cheryl instead of her. Dannii agrees, but says Simon only really loves one person – himself.

She said: “I would say it’s true that Simon has stopped flirting with me. It’s probably because he has a new girl to flirt with.

“But the person he flirts with the most is himself, in the mirror. I don’t fancy Simon anyway. My God, he needs to change that hairstyle! He is Mr Squarehead. The hair needs to go.”

She denied rumours that she was set to be sacked from the show, saying: “I have a sneaky suspicion that we have Louis the Leprechaun to thank for that story.

“He probably put it around to save his own job. I am going nowhere. But Louis can be a real troublemaker, so I am keeping an eye on him.”

Dannii said of Cheryl: “People want a catfight between us, but I think Cheryl is brilliant. I love her to bits. The only fight you will see is us wanting to win.

“The pressure will be on Cheryl. She’s the new girl on the block and wants to prove herself. I admit she has a strong category with those girls. Everyone thinks that. But I am in it to win as well.”

While Simon has charge of the boys and Louis the groups, Dannii is looking after the older age group. And she insists that her trio – fiery Rachel Hylton, 26, Ruth Lorenzo, 25, and Daniel Evans, 38 – are all potential winners.

Dannii said: “We all have at least one act which could win, and that’s exciting.”

X Factor insiders said last night that she and Rachel had “come to blows” over the choice of song her contestant should sing.

Dannii wanted her to perform the Robyn hit With Every Heartbeat, but Rachel moaned: “I’m worried about the song, because it’s not in my comfort zone.”

She finally gave in after Dannii insisted. Rachel said: “I am going to have to trust Dannii. She’s my mentor, she chose me for the final 12 and I am just going to fight for my place.”

She is not the only one to have a dust-up ahead of the first live show. Girlband – the bookies’ favourite to get the axe tonight – fought with one another because they kept messing up their dance routine.

They eventually kissed and made up. But they have now upset rival group Bad Lashes by boasting: “We’re better than them.”

Meanwhle Eoghan Quigg, 16, and Scott Bruton, 19, have been annoying the other contestants with their pranks, including smearing door handles with grease.

And Austin Drage, 21, has come under fire for nicking milk and leaving his pants lying around.

A show source said: “The pressure is mounting and the cracks are starting to show.”

The X Factor is on ITV1 tonight at 7.15pm, with the results show at 10pm.
