Scam

My dad's got a letter today with a visa "credit card" in it, and it says in the letter that he has a credit limit of £350 or something, anyway, this is so clearly a scam it's hilarious, theres nothing about the company [galaxy global business solutions], and the picture on the front of the card is all pixelated and weird.. also the head of the bank is called Geoff Banks. What are the chances of that?
Yeah anyway, they want hiom to send all his details and £25 to them.
if you get it, dont do it

HAHAHAHHAHAHA I'd SO do that for money

My dad once doctored a letter from my school asking for £25 for a trip PMSL.
So I went to my mum and asked her for the money and she was like "Omg Lauren... you fell for it".

 My parents are evil.

At least now he knows how I could've afforded to pay for his birthday present.

Moving swiftly on

We recently had a warning on the works intranet about a postal scam, which claimed to be a sorry we missed you, we have a delivery for you card. The warning said that if you rang the number on the card you would instantly be billed for £15

One problem

It was out of date - ICSTIS had long since taken action and the £15 bit was wrong, you would end up paying that if you stayed on the premium line listening to the warning.

As soon as I pointed out the description of the warning on snopes, the warning was pulled.

Having said that, I did read a report that some OAP's have lost thousands to some of these scams, because their generation were more trusting and more likely to respond to something that sounded like authority.

I have lost count now how many emails I have deleted telling me I have won various lotteries I did not enter and business deals to spirit money away for relatives of murdered African dictators.

:bored:
