I think Diana\'s way of singing contributed to her laryngitis

Might have been caused because of the way she uses her voice? She puts on those screechy things at the end of every sentence, she forces her voice to sound really raspy, generally overusing her vocal chords by forcing her tone? I'm not a Diana fan, nor a vocal expert but it's a shame, because I know people who have had laryngitis/tonsilitis and it was awful for them. I am a little ticked off that she didn't have to perform, whereas the others did... but if it would damage her singing forever, I wouldn't wish that upon any aspiring artist. Still think she's overrated though.

If that is the case, then why hasn't Eoghan got it then? because he strains so much to reach the night notes, just watch X Factor last night and you see how much he was straining, at one point it looked like he was straining for a poo.

I'm not a voice coach expert or anywhere close, but I'd say it's the way she strains her voice, rather than the fact she strains it.

For example, she half closes her throat so that her glottis is only semi-open, this will produce the raspy effect of her voice that makes her unique.

I'd guess the laryngitis has been prevalent in her system for over a week, and last weeks singing only perpetuated it, hence why it's so bad now.

I hope she makes a good recovery.
