Any News on Obama And GM?

Ive seen there is quite a few rumors about weather obama will be bailing out

Ford
Chrysler
and GM (Better know as Vauxhall/ Opel in Europe)

As there is talk General Motors could go fully bankrupt by mid 2009 since they are already in big debt.

So since i want to buy a Vauxhall by the end of the year, im quite interested in what will happen, and I may also be getting a job there in the next month or so.

There is move to save the auto industry, since it's such a Main Street issue. Of course, Conservatives have changed again, and are now finding that their original non-arguments, didn't make any sense. So, back to union busting. They actually want to blame unions for this disaster. Unions are almost obsolete at this point. They went out and said that GM workers made over $70 an hour, when in fact, they make $28.

Now, all the corporate heads fly on their jets to Congress, begging for hand out, with their golden cups in hand.

What seems likely to happen is that they'll get saved, but with clear rules. The government is going to force them to go green, make fuel efficient cars, not to mention electric, priuses. Who the hell is still buying a Hummer? I see those things for sale on lots all the time. No one is buying them, dude! :laugh2:

Congress does have bailout overload. Perhaps if the auto industry went before Congress at the beginning, they would have gotten a loan. Now, everyone is grinding their teeth, especially when they saw them pull up in their private jets, and wouldn't even agree to take a $1 salary for the year. They're a bunch of rotten, immature, children. Too much entitlement, and they are still in their bubbles. They don't get what is going on, or that there's even a problem. All they see is the government is giving out "free cheese." Why not get theirs?

I ****ing hope they keep their vxr range and some good petrol engines...

Prius are the most useless cars in the world, you get stuff like a vw fox or polo that will do about 70 miles per gallon where as a prius does like 60...

I could stand it if they went too "green" its getting annoying lets lower speed limits lets make slower cars... I want a fast car -.-

What they want to do is force them into putting their effort into fuel efficient, faster, greener cars. They want them to invest in this research and actually do it. There have been plans for years, but people still wanted those ridiculous Hummers. It's all about public demand. The public wasn't demanding priuses, or electric cars. Now they are, and with the economic crisis, everyone is finally getting their wish. It's a win-win situation. The only problem now is kicking the butts of these CEOs! Today was the cut off for them writing the government to persuade them into giving them loans and why. They agreed to sell their private jets and take a $1 for a yearly salary.

We've made some progress! :hello:
