Anyone should be able to start a thread without it being called stupid

Lauren 17-11-2008 11:56 PM

People will always judge others threads.

Mods are just volunteers, you can't expect them to read every single post ever posted on the forum, that's thousands per day.

The report function is there for a reason.

Where do i find the report button cos i'm fairly new on here

Lauren 18-11-2008 12:12 AM

Yep, next to the quote button. Then just type in the reason for reporting it, i.e. "member has been offensive" or something, and then send it off and mods/admins will deal with it how they see fit. :)

Its right by the quote button!

And I agree, you should be able to start anything, but you should also be ready to accept the criticism!

ooh Lauren, not a mod anymore? ... when did you lose your wings?

Angel.D if people think it's stupid they ought to be allowed to say it as long as they say why and not get personal. Problem is some people who start threads think if you just disagree with them then your getting personal. It's an opinion about an idea not an opinion about you.

OMG:shocked: lauren you were so good at it to what a shame.

~Kizwiz~ 18-11-2008 12:16 PM

Its a shame that some threads get jumped on but not everybody is going to agree with everyone else.

I would rather people debate than just say 'what a stupid thread'

Its much more fun to disagree but to say why you disagree too, much more intelligent too

lol no .. off course you quit...
mods are under appreciated and get blamed for taking sides. You could either develop a thick skin and keep taking peoples BS but be more at arms length with the forum but that doesn't sound like you ... oh wait...

this is starting to sound like a eulogy....ummm you still suck! kidding..

Lauren 21-11-2008 05:51 AM

Love you long time ange.

(No, on a serious note; it wasn't that I didn't like not being able to take sides or any of that. It's cos I couldn't make sarcastic/jokey comments, because if someone accidentally took offence to it, they'd automatically bring up the fact that I was a mod (and therefore not allowed a sense of humour?) it just got too much to have to be serious and neutral at all times).

Sticks 21-11-2008 06:43 AM

But what if someones name is Stuart Pied and they use the dimminutive of their first name, Stu? :joker:

I have been approached on another forum to be a moderator. I have asked about how much time and commitment it might require to see if I have time to do it. Did it eat a lot of time here on TiBB?

In my case, yes. Butt that's because whenever I came on the forum to escape/just chat, I had mod duties to do.

So if you enjoy being a member on that forum a lot, being a moderator might ruin the fun for you as you don't get to be "just" a member any more.

However; I've said it before, being a mod was one of my most enjoyable times on TiBB because of the other mods. It really is fun, but is it worth losing the fact you're a 'member' for it?

Good luck anyway Sticks

Annie 22-11-2008 12:42 PM

Ahh I have to admit when I seen the title of this thread... I just wanted to come in and say "Stupid" all over it. Thank god I resisted :dance2:
