Stout challenge for BB4 winner

Former Big Brother winner Cameron Stout has entered a challenge to take on the battle of the bulge.
The 33-year-old has signed up for a nine-week weight loss study at the Rowett Research Institute in Aberdeen.

Cameron will live at the institute along with 15 other men taking part in the project.

The participants will follow Atkins-type diets and have their weight, body fat and blood pressure recorded during the length of their stay.

Scientists at the internationally renowned institute hope the results will provide new insights into how high-protein, low carbohydrate diets help people to lose weight.

Speaking as he ate a breakfast of scrambled eggs, Cameron said: "A friend of mine saw the Rowett's advert in the paper looking for volunteers and his mum is always going on to me and him about our lifestyles, so I decided to give it a go.

"I spoke to the Rowett, came to Aberdeen, had blood tests done and bingo, I was suitable."

Cameron, who is originally from Orkney and winner of Big Brother 4, added that his forthcoming role in pantomime this year in Snow White was also an incentive for him to lose a few pounds.

"In this year's panto I want to be Prince Charming not Prince Chubby," he said.

Dr Alex Johnstone, who is leading the study, said: "I'm pretty confident that we will be able to help shape a new slim-line Cameron.

"We will provide him with all his food during the study and I'm sure that after his Big Brother experience he will find our study a real breeze."

Dishes on the menu include haddock and boiled egg, mixed grill and chilli beef.

Funding for the study has been provided by the Scottish Executive.

Oh, good grief! :bored:

Not content with wasting millions on the new Scottish Parliament building in Edinburgh, then . . . . . . . . . .

I despair.

At least it's not being televised. :hello:

There was a piece about this on the Scottish news last night. Apparently Cameron will be living in a Big Brother type environment (without the cameras) and have his diet monitored etc.

The other thing I remember about is that he wouldn't reveal his current weight.
