Timmy Mallett may have only just arrived, but already his 'silly laugh' has caused strife in the I'm a Celebrity group.

The former children's presenter angered his fellow celebrities after cackling his way through Robert Kilroy-Silk's Bush Tucker Trial.

While the MEP tackled rats, eels and crickets Timmy laughed merrily away, almost reaching hysteria at one point.

But his 'lack of support' caused Robert to warn: 'Now you behave yourself with me because I won't put up with it. Don't con me with that silly laugh, I'll wipe it off your face. I know you're embarrassed.'

Boyband singer Simon Webbe, 30, told Martina Navratilova: 'Timmy has got a game plan. I thought he was a legend but he's gone down in my books. It's a big disappointment.'

Brian Paddick waded into the argument, expressing expressing his disappointment with Timmy.

'There's a big huge drop between the expectation and the reality,' he said.

Dani Behr agreed. 'There's laughing out of support and then there's laughing at someone,' she said.

When Timmy finally gave into pressure and apologised to Robert, telling him he was a 'hero', Robert accepted the apology. He then admitted: 'I'm trying to fit in here and be not my normal self. I'm trying not to be aggressive, arrogant.'

Timmy later admitted to David he had feared Robert was going to punch him.

I think everyone's a bit too serious in there, he was only quite literally having a laugh.
