Nicola McLean had a disastrous bush tucker trial after being sent into a cavern teaming with creepy crawlies and rats.

The WAG only managed to collect three stars out of a possible 12 during the Cavern of Calamities bust tucker, but said the only thing that cheered her up was knowing that her enemies Timmy Mallett and David Van Day would go hungry.

Ahead of her trial, the 26-year-old clashed with David after he offered her advice about the task, angering Joe Swash over her nasty treatment of the former Dollar frontman.

Before the trial, Nicola hit out at David when he warned she may get her hair dirty in the cave.

Nicola responded: 'Do you know what David, you are so much more worried about your hair than I am about mine so don’t worry about me, I’m fine.

'I said well done to you two, don’t be d**kheads.'

When David said his comment was only a bit of fun, and she needed to get a sense of humour, Nicola replied: 'I didn’t say anything to you when you are scared of the dark.

'I have got a good sense of humour but not when I’m panicking. Go in a cave and cry because you’re scared of the dark.

'Go on. If I said that to either of them two everyone would have said I was being a bitch.'

Esther Rantzen tried to calm down the situation by taking David off to the pool.

She told him: 'It’s a ridiculous thing to say but for some reason every word you said to Nicola she understands as some sort of attack or insult.

David replied: 'It’s annoying because Timmy started it and I’ve got the brunt of it. Compromise. So you’ve got to compromise your humour then haven’t you?'

For the trial, Nicola went into a pitch black cave and had to feel for the stars.

Clearly worried by the prospect of going into the cave, Nicola said: 'I’m so petrified, I could cry.

'This show is turning me into a nervous wreck, I could honestly cry.

'It’s my greatest fears, dark and claustrophobic, I’m genuinely petrified but I’m going to get 11 stars and David’s not going to eat tonight.
'He’s an idiot and it’s riled me. I might go for ten because I don’t like Timmy either.'

Nicola backed into the dark cavern which was then sealed with a rock placed at the entrance.

Rats were scurrying around her as she searched the rock walls for stars.

Spiders, mealworms and cockroaches were falling on her hair and shoulders as she found two stars in the first couple of minutes.

’m really scared, oh God, this is horrendous, please God, this is really awful, my worst nightmare,' she squealed.

Shaking and screaming she searched inside a bunch of leaves to find her third and final star.

'Please let me get some more, I’m trying really hard,' she said as creatures were fell on her head and her hands felt the rats.

Nicola decided she’d had enough as her five minutes came to an end.

'Just count me out,' she begged Ant and Dec as they counted down the last five seconds of her time limit.

As she left the cave covered in cockroaches, spider webs and mealworms, she said: 'I feel I’ve let everyone down, that was really tough. Timmy and David will be hungry so I’m buzzing about that. '

Asked by Ant and Dec is she was concerned what her fellow celebrities would think of her returning to camp having won just three meals she said: 'I couldn’t care less what the others say. Sorry.'

Meanwhile, back at camp, Joe was complaining to Esther about Nicola and former WAG Dani Behr's treatment of David.

Joe said : 'I’m disgusted by it. The way they’ve treated David and Timmy. Nicola and Dani. It’s like they think they’re the It Girls of the crowd.
'They want to pull all the strings and whispering and gossiping and snipey looks.
'Why do you two think you’re so special? Why do you think you have more right to be in here than Timmy and David?

'Are they that arrogant and naive they can’t be bothered to scratch the surface and find out about them? They haven’t even bothered with them.'

He added: 'I’m going to forget about it today. They haven’t done anything wrong to me but if I see it happening I’m going to stand up and say something.'

Esther replied: 'That’s right. And if I know it I will support you and if you hear me you’ll support me and that way they haven’t got their power base.'

Meanwhile Timmy was apologising to Nicola for offending her and she in turn said sorry for calling him a d**khead.

But on her walk to the trial she said: 'He’s an imbecile. I’m petrified; I’m not busting my balls to feed two people that really rile me.'

Later she took part in the bush battle, Up To Your Neck In It, with Robert Kilroy-Silk and Timmy Mallet to fight for immunity from the public vote.

The stars were pitted against each and had to sit in a tank that slowly filled with smelly gunk. The celebrity to endure the longest won immunity.

Timmy won after staying in a tank filled with smelly slime for the longest, with Robert Kilroy-Silk opting out of the challenge first, followed by Nicola.

The WAG then slated Timmy for trying to get his song Itsy Bitsy Teeny Weeny Yellow Polka Dot Bikini released again by continuing to sing it in the camp.

She moaned: 'I can’t listen to Timmy sing that song, it’s so obvious he's trying to get the song out again and make it number one hit.

'I don't know how it got to number one for the first time.'
