Lauren 25-11-2008 11:58 PM

It isn't advent just yet. I think when it gets into Dec we should start having christmas avs and sigs, woo.

Scarlett. 25-11-2008 11:59 PM

The credit crunch has caused the cancellation of Christmas this year, especially in Croatia

Quote:

The Croatian government has banned Christmas and New Year parties in the public sector because of the global financial crisis.

State-run firms and organisations have also been told that they won't be allowed to dip into their funds to buy Christmas presents.
So please note

Do to the economic conditions the light at the end of the tunnel has been switched off until further notice

Wasn't Christ born on/or around September 29th? I read there is no reference in the bible he was born on christmas day, and it's all a lie.

But I am not a believer either way.

That would mean he was immaculately conceived around christmas.

It was not until 358CE that Bishop Liberius of Rome declared that 25 December would celebrate the birth of Jesus, so no wonder the NT does not record him being born on 25 December.

As for Jesus' historicity I refer you to the writings of Flavius Josephus and Tacitus, historians who were not Christians yet recorded his existence.

GhettoSuperstar 26-11-2008 05:29 PM

Too early, I don't see why we need to celebrate one day (which is just hype) with a month to 2 months in advance. A couple of weeks is good enough.

Scarlett. 26-11-2008 05:32 PM

Too early?
advent starts in 5 days...plus everywhere or nearly everywhere has lights up now

in the olden days the tree used to go up on christmas eve and come down on boxing day

Now lights go up in October, adverts start in November and people put their decorations up at the start of December then take them down in January- thats 3-4 months all for the sake of one day

Hugo 26-11-2008 06:15 PM

Errmm..its November?
I don't see why it would be christmasy its far too early. =/

Scarlett. 26-11-2008 06:21 PM

Completly agree, dont see why people start counting down from summer now, its one day, live all the others!

Lauren 26-11-2008 07:11 PM

When does everyone put their tree up?
