Robert Kilroy-Silk is the first to be booted out of I'm A Celebrity
After 12 days in the jungle Robert Kilroy-Silk has become the first person to be booted out of I'm A Celebrity.

The politician and former TV presenter won the lowest number of votes from the public.

He was closely beaten to the chance to stay in the camp by former police chief Brian Paddick, with presenters Ant and Dec revealing there was less than 0.5 per cent in the vote.

Robert said he was sad to be the first to leave, but that the news was bittersweet.

'I'm fine because I'm going to see my Jan,' he told Ant and Dec.

'I pleaded withe the viewers for another night, just one more night, but they wouldn't give it to me.'

On eviction Robert's first question was who had won the Liverpool v Marseilles football match, and at last he got some good news - his team won 1-0.

He said his time inside the camp had been hard work.

'It was what I expected, but it was more challenging. I never thought I would do the live trial but I was glad I was given the opportunity.'

He said he did the trials because he thought it would make his grandchildren laugh at home.

And after watching a montage of his best bits Robert said he felt he was true to himself in the camp.

'The me that was there is me, whether I'm nasty or nice that was me, I'm myself.

'I have very strong views and I like to express them clearly... but I like to do what's right and what's fair.'

And he tipped tennis star and new friend Martina Navratilova for the top, saying he hoped she would win.

And with that Robert left across a flaming bridge for an emotional reunion with his wife.

Back in camp Timmy Mallett and David Van Day were planning to storm the charts again - with a song called Biff, Baff, Boff.

Van Day said: 'We can easily write (lines like) rice and beans, rice and beans rice and beans... Nice little lines like that...

'You need the rhythm, you need a nice melody and you need a bit of Kylie, a bit of PWL in there so people can dance to it.

'It could be a big Christmas hit in all the nightclubs.'

Mallett said: 'I'm really glad we did that song. That'll be on YouTube tonight.'

They talked about the possibility of using a Queen line from a song.

'You might get Brian May to play guitar,' suggested Van Day.

'No, too old,' snapped Mallett. 'You want someone young and funky and happening now.

'I was going to say Madonna but she's in the thralls of divorce so you don't want her involved in it.'

The campers were given a treat of scones, cream and jam as a 'taste of home' but they would have to say who they would miss most.

As the last full day as a group of 12, emotions started running high.

Robert Kilroy-Silk said Navratilova is a 'cultured renaissance woman'.

Overcome by emotion, Paddick struggled to speak. Choosing Simon Webbe, he said: 'Simon, we need more role models like you.'

Webbe comforted Paddick, who continued: 'We need more people like you getting the publicity so that young kids who don't think they've got a chance can see there is a legitimate route to the top.'

McLean broke down as she confessed that Kilroy-Silk and Paddick are the two people she will miss.

She said to Kilroy-Silk: 'I never thought I'd get on with you at all and you have just, honestly you've been like a father figure to me.'

She compared it 'to therapy' and said to Paddick: 'If I ever thought I'd be able to sit, have a conversation with a policeman and a politician I would have laughed, but seriously you are just one of the girls and I can't wait to go to your wedding.'

Van Day said: 'I wouldn't miss this experience for the world' - but later in the Bush Telegraph, he said: 'Lots of people are going: 'and I'll be coming to your wedding,' there's about three weddings going on in there and I didn't remember anyone saying (to me): 'Would you like to come to the wedding?''

Navratilova said the jungle has been 'an experience from hell and I would not want to repeat it,' but added: 'Joe I think I'll miss the most because you make me laugh... Whatever woman has you she's a lucky woman.'

Swash quipped: 'If only you weren't gay eh?'

Carly Zucker also reduced McLean to tears when she said that they would be 'friends for life.'

She said: 'Here right now I can class you as one of my best friends, we know so much about each other.'

He shouldn't have been voted out though, he was the best celebrity this year.

they said the votes were close
sad it had to be Kilroy.

It's probably one of those things where people think he was relatively safe and didn't vote for him. A bit like what happened to Laura in the X-Factor.

Looking at the odds, Brian was favorite to leave, followed by David and Nicola.

I'm gutted :bawling:

Mike 26-11-2008 11:04 PM

Still can't believe he was voted out, Brian from what I have seen of this series hasn't even come close to Kilroy in terms of entertainment factor.

podge2007 26-11-2008 11:17 PM

He was my fav:bawling:
Last week he was brilliant in the live task but lately he's been overshadowed by the David vs Nicola war. I've been watching the last few days and wondering where Robert was. Brian crying probably gained him the sympathy vote.

Joke

He should NOT have gone first. The live trial alone was worthy of keeping him in a while longer. But he hasn't done much in the past couple of days, and brian pillock played the sympathy card, (I've got no money, me!!)and crying around simon (oh, purlease). Anyway, lets hope the 'bore brigade' go next.......simon,carly,brian,dani..............:sl eep:

BTW, 50p to vote.........a bit steep, me thinks......

It is a real shame
as he is so good on Tasks

Kilroy blames the Edits,
they all do that.

If we had Live Feed
maybe he would have stayed.

robb 28-11-2008 01:59 PM

I think the problem was he disappeared from view for the last 2 days....he said he was edited as being 'prickly'..........but he was at the start, and still is, let's face it!!
