I'd imagine Mark/James/Red is better at this than me.

But each website has it's own dedicated number of servers, (think of them as huge HDs) so this stores all the images you use in your sigs, all the posts, everything. That's why we have signature size limits, because if we all had giant sigs they'd take up a lot of bandwidth and each computer would take more time "downloading" them from the servers.

Chances are, I'm wrong somewhere amongst this.
