Bus battle: Tempers (and pants) flare as the celebrities gang up against David Van Day A huge argument rocked the I'm A Celebrity camp last night, with the campmates uniting to try and turf David Van Day out of his comfortable bed.
The Eighties singer moved into ex-campmate Dani Behr's bed when she left, after the other celebrities refused it.
But seeing the least popular member of camp enjoying the 'luxury' of sleeping on a double decker bus, while they slept in hammocks outside, ignited the celebrities jealousy.
After they rowed about the bed a despondent David then saw his pants go up in flames from their drying spot above the fire.
She said her extra four days in the camp meant she should have 'seniority'.
David’s nemesis Nicola encouraged Martina to bring this up with him ‘because no-one will argue with you.’
Brian admitted he had not slept properly since he gave up his bed to Simon and moved into a hammock. But he said he was happy to try again for one more night.
'No, damn it, don’t be such a wuss,’ insisted Martina.
Esther tried to defuse the situation, but Nicola jumped in and said: ‘Don’t offer your bed, because if you give David your bed I’m going to be pissed.'
Esther said: ‘Isn’t it funny how human beings seem to need a hierarchy. It's beds that are going to make a difference.
'Seems to be that the bus is the best bed, the beds are the second best and the hammocks are the third. If we were at home would anyone clamber to sleep on the top of a Double Decker bus?’
Martina then decided to confront David: ‘Hey David we might do some kind of a rotation on your bed or something,' she said.
David was quick to respond: ‘You’re desperate to get my bed back, I just got in there. I’ve only been in there two nights so I’ve got to go sleep in the rain have I after sleeping in it for a week?’
He added: ‘It's just I don’t understand, Dani never gave her bed up for a week. Why was it fine for everybody else to sleep out in the rain when Dani was on the bed, but when I get in there all of a sudden I should be asked to move?’
Furious with David for not giving into her threats Martina said she would throw David off the bus tomorrow.
As the celebrities (minus David) cleared up after dinner, she said: ‘Brian didn’t want a confrontation but tomorrow I want to sleep up there (pointing to the bus) and cleaning the dunny for five minutes does not absolve you of ever cleaning again.'
As Martina went off to bed, Esther said to George: ‘And we wonder why world wars break out. For god's sake, we’ve got nice food inside us.
‘I’m not going to tangle with the lady, she’s ferocious. One feels like saying this is not school or prison, if people want to help they will help the best way they can.’
George said: ’That’s another reason for me to be eliminated, I don’t need all this.’
Brian, worried about Martina getting upset about the place on the bus, said: ‘By seniority he is the next person as Esther and Martina don’t want to sleep up there. I don’t like David but that’s not a reason to be thrown off the bus.
'I love you George.’ With that he gave George a hug and a peck on the cheek.
