Diana is a victim of her own success
 

She peaked far too early and the repetitiveness of something initially fresh to X Factor is wearing very thin and has become very boring. I bet she has lost some fans in the last couple of weeks who are transferring to the others.

Her own success has effectively cost her winning IMO.

I said last night she has lost it, her second song last night was a mile times better then her first, but something has just be sucked out of her, I do feel sory for her and i don't think she will win now, but she will still get a contract anyway. I still like her, she is a lovely bubbly girl. If the singing don't work she should defo becom a model! those legs of hers! lol.

The thing is, she hasn't gotten worse, it's just the others have improved whilst she has stayed the same. If you just listen to her recent performances on ther eown it sounds good, but it's just not good enough if you get me?

Its because she peaked but I agree some sound good on their own. I bet if the performances had been in reverse order we'd see a different reaction to her. She obviously lost something when she got laryngitis. I liked her Yellow and the REM one last night but some say she didn't cut it in them, but thats the Diana I liked from the earlier rounds ...

Theres just something missing that was there in bootcamp. Thats my main problem with her.

Lmao for the first time I agree with you. The REM and Yellow were ones I enjoyed (although Yellow was out of tune in times), and REM especially was an amazing performance vocally, and I totally agree that had it been in reverse they'd be a totally different reaction.
I do think the judges are trying to even out the votes though.

See I also blame these bloody stupid theme weeks, I do think Diana has lost her style because of them.

I agree, she hasn't gotten worse its just that others (not all) have improved, but i'm still supporting her to win because even if she's just the same every week its fine for me i don't like too much change but i hope when she gets to choose her own song on saturday that she gets her spark back because she HAS to be in the final, no way do Eoghan and JLS deserve to be higher

She was never very good in the first place.

Up to a certain extent you're right, its not that she got worse its that the others improved . Which is another way of saying, they showed they're much more talented.

She was really good up till week 5, after that it all went wrong, I think that throat thing knocked her confidence so much, she just hasn't been the same since, and like I said I find it quite sad, I like the girl, she is a lovely person, and although I can't see her winning now she will still get a contract, but they can work hard with her to bring out songs that suit her and her voice, because they are songs out there that do. I think all this bad press, the Eoghan thing ect hasn't helped her either, plus she knew ages ago she was fav to win, that would of put pressure on her. Saying all of this though, I would still be happy of she won, I want Alex or Diana to win, and if Alex wins :cheer2: but I want Diana to come second.

Her fanbase will support her no matter HOW she sings, and I have a feeling this didn't give her the push or motivation in recent weeks.

You're probably right. Also, the fact the judges didn't give her any criticism up until a few weeks ago, may also have made her over confident.

Thing is though is someone keeps telling you something you start to believe it, maybe that's another thing that has happend to Diana.

Cowell did her no favours by saying the other week that when she sang out of key, it's what made the song good.

Exaclty, but of a stupid thing to say really, that's why I blame the judges, and I feel sorry for Diana. I know they really like her, but sometimes you have to be honest.

I never blamed Diana herself for being the shows favourite; I blamed her fans for saying her poor performances were good. All of it probably contributed to her being over confident and believing she was better than she actually was. To be brutally honest, it was probably a mistake to put Diana into the final 12 over Hannah. Diana has had the throat problem, and a steady decline since which probably shows she wasn’t ‘ready’ for the competition.
