Last Tango in Strictly for Christine Bleakley as she gets eliminated... while Rachel Stevens is saved
Television presenter Christine Bleakley was the twelfth celebrity to leave Strictly Come Dancing tonight.

After performing the Tango and the Salsa, the combination of the viewer votes and judges’ scores left Christine and her partner Matthew Cutler in the bottom two with Rachel Stevens and Vincent Simone.

Both couples had to perform their highest scoring dance a second time for the judges’ deciding vote.

After her elimination, Christine said: 'I thought I would go in the first week.

'It’s been absolutely incredible. I can’t thank people enough for their support.

'In Northern Ireland and over here. I’m going to miss him [Matthew] every day more than anything.'

Judge Arlene Phillips gave Christine's Tango a score of six.

She said : 'The body contact was there but it was as though Matthew was picking you up and moving you like a rag doll.

'You weren’t supported, you weren’t centred, and we didn’t see the core strength Christine, which by now you should have.'

Giving a score of seven, Len Goodman said: 'I agree a little bit that you’ve got to get a little more taut in your core.

'But there was drama about it. I think nerves get the better of you and instead of coming out and just going for it, you get nervous and you go into yourself.'

Brunio Tonioli gave the star's Tango dance a score of eight: 'The Tango’s a dance you really have to attack.

'It has to have emotional impact and focus. You did the moves but it was a bit limp.

'It has to come from inside you, not like a mask. It’s got to come from within you.”

And Craig Craig Revel Horwood dished out a score of seven.

He said: 'I’m afraid not sharp enough. All the way through, particularly the spine was very loose and lacked any sort of tension and aggression to tell the story.

'The kicks were a bit lame. I think to be honest at this point in the competition sadly that wasn’t good enough.'

The judges gave them a total of 28 out of 40 for their Tango performance. But the pair scored slightly hire in the Salsa dance, attaining a total score of 30 out of 40.

Giving a score of seven, Arlene said: 'Christine, it was a joy to see the smile back, it was a joy to see the performance but technically you need to go through the ball of the feet to the heel to get the true hip action.'

Len, giving a score of eight, said: 'Last week I said to you that you’re too careful, well there was nothing careful about that!

'You came out and really attacked the dance, so well done for that.'

Bruno, also giving a score of eight, said: 'It’s good to see why people love you because you’re flirty and cheeky.

'Everybody likes you and this dance suits you better than the Tango. Again, work on the core and the finish.'

And Craig, handing out a score of seven, said: 'For me, it was very stompy I’m afraid, but the energy was fantastic.

'Some of the moves were a little lazy but much better than your last round darling.'

After the dance-off, Craig, Arlene and Bruno all saved Rachel and Vincent, leaving head judge Len to comment. Len just said: 'I agreed with the other judges.'

The Sunday results show also saw a live performance from Estelle.
