Scarlett. 08-12-2008 01:36 AM

Im still using XP! lol

Lauren 08-12-2008 02:04 AM

Looks like vista, apart from the toolbar.

Not worth the upgrade.

Sticks 08-12-2008 06:45 AM

Have they now given a date when Vista will no longer be supported

BTW, I know I am not a moderator here, but Chewy can you resize your image as it is a bit wide. You can do this by having in the first [ img ] tag an =XxY

e.g. [ img=600x400 ]

I don't like the look of it. It looks fiddily and awkward to use.

JOSHUAH! 10-12-2008 09:59 PM

I don't like the way it looks too much like Vista. I like to have something new, like the radical change there was between XP and Vista.

Red Moon 10-12-2008 10:24 PM

I do wonder what the take up will be like given Vista poor sales performance. If you look at the current OS usage then these are shares of current operating systems of note:

Windows XP 72.0%
Windows 2000 1.8%
Windows 98 0.1%
Windows Vista 15.1%
Windows 2003 1.6%
Linux 3.8%
Mac OSX 5.3%

Clearly Vista hasn't really done to well in the upgrade market and most of the machines would have come pre-installed with the OS rather than it being the operating system of choice.

My personal experience is that Vista is at best it's slow and at times full of bugs and requires constant updating from Microsoft to avoid security issues. It reminds me of Windows ME.

However like someone said earlier all Windows 7 will be is the bug fixes from Vista plus a few extra's nicked from some other OS.

sol 14-12-2008 12:10 PM

I won't be upgrading, I've got Vista which came pre-installed with my laptop 18 months ago now, and I still find myself looking back and thinking how great XP was.

supernoodles! 14-12-2008 12:12 PM

I will be sticking with vista:hello:

Scarlett. 25-03-2009 02:49 PM

Apparently, it runs a lot better than Vista and is more reliable than XP

James 24-04-2009 01:24 AM

I just installed Windows 7 Beta. Feels smoother than Vista, I think.

Not sure about this new toolbar though, you can't see everything that you've got open immediately.

I only just got Vista :(
