The Kelly Clarkson Thread

Princess 23-12-2008 01:11 AM

Ahhhhhh how did I miss this thread!!!!!

Brilliance! Can't wait to hear her new stuff.

MarkWaldorf 23-12-2008 01:12 AM

I really hope it's like something from Breakaway. My December wasn't really my thing, except for Sober which is pretty amazing.

Princess 23-12-2008 01:14 AM

I love both of them, but do tend to listen to Breakaway more as it's one of my favourite albums of all time.

MarkWaldorf 23-12-2008 01:15 AM

I'm praying for something like Since You Been Gone. I heard it was like an up-tempo 'Who Knew' by Pink though, which is also pretty good!

Locke. 23-12-2008 01:16 AM

Yeah there are posters all around my college for her new single for some reason :puzzled:

MarkWaldorf 23-12-2008 01:17 AM

^Really? :S

Locke. 23-12-2008 01:30 AM

Yeah, don't know why, I've never seen them for any other artist.

Noel 23-12-2008 09:20 AM

Omg I can't wait! I've been waiting for her new album for ages! I really didn't like My December. I thought it too depressing and grungy for me. I really hop she cheers up in this one, and the new single sounds great! Go Kelly! :D

Fom 23-12-2008 09:30 AM

With the new image of her single covers I can pretty much guarantee a happier album, its a lot more siwrly and pink. Unlike the dark edgy cover of My December.

I am glad she did My December though, it wasn't pop and it established her as a real artist and not just a pop star. In my own opinion some of her best songs are on there and some of her worst songs are on there, songs like 'Sober' and 'Maybe' a pure genious songs!
For anyone worrying what it will sound like here is an article:

Kelly Clarkson's New Single "My Life Would Suck Without You" Hits Radio January 19th

12/22/08, 3:45 pm EST

Kelly Clarkson will reportedly return January 19th when "My Life Would Suck Without You," the first single from her upcoming fourth album, hits radio. Rolling Stonegot an early listen to a few tunes from the still-untitled disc (expected out March 17th) and can report they are, in two words, totally awesome. Reports that Clarkson was making a country record were incorrect - the new album is stocked with primo pop hits reminiscent of Breakaway.

Clarkson left fans a video message (above) where she announces a Website change (she's ditching kellyclarksonweb.com for kellyofficial.com). She also established a voice mailbox where fans can call in for updates on all things Kelly. Clarkson previously posted in late October that she had finished recording her new album, the former American Idol winner's first since 2007's My December.

Can't wait!
I hope she has a few tracks that are My December-ish.
I preferred MD to Breakaway, so yeah. I don't mind her doing more Breakaway stuff again as long as there's a few darker tracks like Haunted or Judas :D

These are the lyrics, someone on another forum's relative works for RCA and they have the song but wrote down the lyrics rather than leaking it:

Quote:

My..Life..
it used to be so perfect
not a thing to worry about
I used to be so happy
with you in my life

(CHORUS)
My...Life..
Was Once complete with you in it
then you turn and walk away
but there is one thing I know...
My Life Would Suck Without You
It would be so incomplete
things would be so different
It would be so hard to see
My Life Would Suck....
Without You

Met you as a child
We grew so close together
Things began to change
What happened to the love we used to have
&that's all they gave.

She's also recorded a song called 'Sanity'

DamonJ 25-12-2008 05:43 PM

Yay!
Wayne Isham did Bitney's 'Piece Of Me' & 'I'm Not A Girl' if I'm not mistaken. =D

Fom 25-12-2008 06:10 PM

I would take those lyrics with a pinch of salt, a friend of mine with good connections said this:

Quote:

Those aren't the lyrics. Sanity doesn't exist.
Plus others think the person who wrote the lyrics were trying to hard to relate it to the theme of the video, I don't believe the lyrics, they don't sound very kelly-ish. We will see, but I doubt they are true, if the people I talk to dont believe them then I dont.

She has only been gone just over a year. And she shouldnt of been gone that long but her record label gave up after 2 singles!

Fom 02-01-2009 12:15 AM

New single cover! She looks sexy as hell!
She is going to be massive, I can feel it, the picture is clearly very photoshopped... but its still nice!

Kelly Clarkson, "Masquerade," (RCA) March.

The "American Idol" winner's last album, "My December" in 2007, was supposed to be the singer's big personal artistic statement, filled with raw rock songs that Ms. Clarkson wrote largely on her own, without input from the hitmeisters whose tunes made her a star. The album yielded only middling sales, however, along with a canceled concert tour and a humiliating fight with label head Clive Davis over the direction of her music. For her fourth album, Ms. Clarkson is "in a period where she wants to take on the pop world again," says RCA general manager Tom Corson. "She's ready, and she's got all the right support." That includes the input of writer-producers like Max Martin, Howard Benson and Lukasz "Dr. Luke" Gottwald, who were behind some of Ms. Clarkson's biggest pop hits.
