Unlimited

... What does unlimited mean?

Lauren 21-12-2008 02:36 AM

There is no limit?

(I might have missed a deeper question LOL)

andyman 21-12-2008 03:33 AM

Usage policy applies= unlimited? Yep the net and phone..

Lauren 21-12-2008 03:35 AM

OOOH I get it now. I genuinely thought you were asking for a general definition  Hahahah.

Yeah, my ISP is "unlimited" but there's a fair use policy attached to it. Somewhat pointless because sometimes the amount til it gets into "unfair" use is less than some of the limited packages they give.

For example:
Package 1: Unlimited (but caps at about 10gb per day for example)
Package 2: Not unlimited. (but it's set at 15gb per day).

Furthermore, LOL I said package. :joker:

andyman 21-12-2008 03:43 AM

Lol you do like a good package
So really its not unlimited if the true meaning of the word means no limit... The clearly do have a limit.
I demand a truely unlimited service if the word means no limits, quick ring the police and tell em! has to be a crime.

Lauren 21-12-2008 03:44 AM

If I remember correctly, BT are requesting from the government the ability to install fibre internet cables underground which will provide fast internet the most homes. If this goes ahead I imagine we'll start getting truly unlimited PACKAGES. But given the current financial climate, I can't imagine the Government will pass this too soon.

packagepackagepackage.

andyman 21-12-2008 03:57 AM

It wont be cheap for us, but then again its worth the extra cost for more speed... We talking about a HUGE PACKAGE with the cost?

andyman 21-12-2008 04:03 AM

Yeah, it won't be cheap for the government too, because they have to pay for the wires to be put in place so that we can get a MASSIVE PACKAGE.

Edit: The guest thing is just a case of cookies being all muddled.

andyman 21-12-2008 04:45 AM

Whats a GIANT PACKAGE to the government, i dont mind paying bit extra tax... Few pence at the most :bouncy:

Guests are cookies???

Lauren 21-12-2008 04:48 AM

It's basically an invest on the part of the Government, so we can't pay taxes on it, cos not everyone will use it. But I imagine once the financial crisis is over it'll be paid and we will be provided with our highly-sought after LARGE PACKAGE.

Also, yes, chocolate chip.

andyman 21-12-2008 05:09 AM

Ha! I knew the guests are government spies! They aint tracking my brain down.. Nooooo way.
Well we all want super fast internet speeds and the uk needs it, very bad! Some parts of the uk is very poor and the wi-fi thing aint too great, 3G is much better. But people should have that ENORMOUS PACKAGE, its our right, we demand an ENORMOUS PACKAGE today!

Lauren 21-12-2008 05:15 AM

Yes, I'm with you. Enormous packages for all!

andyman 21-12-2008 05:17 AM

I have posted on word association but its not shown in todays posts, the thread will not be known by new members.. But still keep it where it is but still be shown in todays posts.

andyman 21-12-2008 05:20 AM

But would a GIGANTIC PACKAGE be better, some might need an MONSTEROUS PACKAGE for their needs, and people have needs.

andyman 21-12-2008 05:23 AM

Do you have a big smile on your face when you see the post man with a big package?

Its more about the lie about unlimited when they aply an "usage policy applies" then its not truely "unlimited" if the word means no-limits, when clearly there is a limit so the word unlimited should not be used.

lily. 21-12-2008 05:34 PM

It's typical though, isn't it.. false advertising Andy.

Oh, and I worry about you and Loz and the obsession with the packages. lol

You must like having a big package tho, i do. I have had a small package before but it does not meet my needs that a huge package can offer. :bouncy:

I generally find that the size of the package is not as important as the content.

Sometimes bigger packages are a disapointment.

And, often a small to medium package can bring all kinds of delights.

You really can't generalise when it comes to packages. But as long as it fulfils the needs of the recipient, then the size of it is irrelevant.
