I saw this and thought that the 'good' acts were hopeless and the bad ones embarassing.

And you can guarantee that if 50000 people audition the judges will only see a few of them. These can be described in one of the following groups: genuinely talented, complete rubbish, the type that is likely to talk back to the judges or someone who will cry when rejected.

Sharon Osbourne was good though.

Julia L 07-09-2004 03:11 PM

I know it's a bit predictable, but I have to say I love this show - some of the groups are really good!

BigSister 07-09-2004 03:40 PM

yeah i liked it too Julia

Amy 08-09-2004 07:56 AM

I only saw the opening titles but I'm looking forward to seeing what the show's like next week!

BusyBee 08-09-2004 04:28 PM

The usual mix of really good and really bad - though I do like Sharon - she tells it like it is.

A BUSTY singer has told her lawyer to demand an apology from X Factor judge Sharon Osbourne — because she criticised her for not wearing a BRA.

Corinne Graehame — a 44DD — says she felt “publicly humiliated” by Sharon, 50.

The 51-year-old, from Nottingham, said: “I’d lost my voice so Sharon quipped that I’d obviously lost my bra too.

“I know I’ve got big boobs and they don’t always swing in the same direction, but who cares?”

Corinne, who cannot wear a bra because of a skin condition, added: “Kids in rehab, married to a nutter — Sharon’s got a real nerve.”

It's Fuller v Cowell

TELLY tycoon Simon Fuller is suing Simon Cowell over his new talent series The X Factor — claiming it’s a rip-off of Pop Idol.
Lawyers issued writs against TV’s Mr Nasty after carefully watching footage of the two ITV1 song contests.

Fuller is the creator of Pop Idol and Cowell found fame as a judge on the show.

The X Factor and Pop Idol both feature thousands of eager wannabes auditioning across the UK for a chance at stardom.

The only real difference is that Pop Idol contestants have to be aged 16-26.

But there is no age limit on The X Factor, which has already auditioned an 81-year-old granny.

Fuller’s company 19 TV is preparing a video comparing the shows’ logos, music and camera angles.

It has issued writs for breach of copyright and contract against 44-year-old Cowell, his production companies and X Factor co-producer FreemantleMedia.

Cowell — worth around £45million — faces paying out hundreds of thousands of pounds if a judge rules he copied the Pop Idol format.

He could even lose his job as a judge on American Idol — the rights of which belong to Fuller.

Only weeks ago he laughed off reports that Fuller, 43, would be upset that he had “nicked” the Pop Idol format.

He said: “Lighten up a bit now. We can both get our shows made. Let’s enjoy it.”

But a spokesman for Fuller — worth £220million — said he did not want to force The X Factor off the air.

I thought the young black man was great (the one that Louis and Simon loved, but Sharon couldn't see it), and the two rival boy bands  Thought the twins were fun and the old man was hilarious

Frankly I don't see any talent in any of them and that includes the judges. They are all bonkers in their judgments and comments and what ever other trashy tacky gunge that the show churns out. X factor indeed. only adults without a nervous disposition should be allowed to view it.

I am in favour of writing to Ofcom to get the de-humanised trash removed from the planet, the universe including the alternative universes and any where else one can think of to save whats left of the sanity of mankind.

The animal world does not deserve to be inflicted with humans driven insane by the droolish half baked mutterings of a group of judges that should be certified for agreeing to listen to such trash that contestants are inhuman enough to inflict on all who can't escape from a TV set.

I guess someone may have noticed that I don't like the program......:hugesmile:

Janette 19-09-2004 06:52 PM

Best so far:-

The operatic group that sang Bohemian Rhapsody
The Blind guy (but not his partner)
The Jim Morrison lookalike
The three big girls with the big voices!

I'm loving this, especially Sharon!

BigSister 19-09-2004 07:47 PM

yeah sharon is great, I liked the operatic group but the 144 old man who said he was recarnated spooked me

BusyBee 20-09-2004 01:06 PM

This seems to be a very odd programme to me - there was Louis putting everyone through because they were in Ireland. There reasons for putting through go over my head - several who I thought were pretty good got put to one side and others who I thought were rubbish sailed through. I dont like how they keep trying to break up groups by picking on one member and saying they should have done a solo audition. Also Simon how two faced are you that girl who gave up her honeymoon - she had a great voice, but what did you say "you have got to lose weight". In Pop Idol you said size didnt matter where Michelle was concerned. Be consistent Simon. The group of three black girls with fantastic voices were told their image wasnt right, but not to lose weight.

BigSister 20-09-2004 03:55 PM

Yeah I agree with you BB over reasons for putting through, it all seems weird:conf:

Janette 20-09-2004 06:17 PM

Maybe Simon has just learned his lesson and realises how fickle the Great British public is! After all, his pick on Pop Idol, Michelle, has done nothing since winning!

It's sad but if you want to be a pop star you have to be thin and good looking nowadays!

bananarama 20-09-2004 07:45 PM

BusyBee . You have summed up all the reasons why I believe the show to be unwatchable rubbish..

A boy/girl duo and the girl was demoralized by being told she was not in harmony with the lad. To me I thought they sounded great together. These critisisms is as alway to make so called good TV. Get the viewers hot under the collar. Get the viewers to enjoy the mini drama out of hurting and destroying promising singing careers.

Talent shows throughout the ages have had panel members who make a name for themselves by destroying the ambitions of young and old talent alike. Panel members who have little talent themselves exept to mouth off and put others down.

Frankly I am sick of it. This sadism is enetertainment!!! I think not...As they reject and split the good ones and let through talentless ones I have seen better garbage in my dust bin than this "X" factor series is turning into.
