Slumdog Millionaire

I watched it yesterday and it was soo good. Better than The Dark Knight IMO. The main character, Dev Patel also plays Anwar from Skins just so you know.

I've been trying to convince my family to go see it with me this holiday, but they'd rather stay home and watch The Bourne Trilogy.

(OT: Melanie your avatar, that's from Kablam right? Or some Nick show?)

It's amazing, and what's even better is that it's produced by Film4.

(Maybe you don't know my obsession)

LOL no I don't and I don't think I want to know either.
Film 4? I'm suprised to be honest, you wouldn't expect Film4 to produce a film which has got such good reviews.

I love Film4.

And Film4 has produced many films this year that have gotten good reviews, and in previous years as well. Slumdog Millionaire (4 Nominations), In Bruges (3), and Happy-Go-Lucky (2) received tons of Golden Globe nominations this year, Hunger is supposed to be good as well.

Film4 produced "The Last King of Scotland", which Forest Whittaker won an Oscar for and received quite a few BAFTA nominations and awards. "This is England" won a BAFTA, and "Venus" had Peter O'Toole nominated for an Oscar.

They also did "Hallam Foe" and "And When Did You Last See Your Father?", which were both fairly good.

I've yet to see Happy-Go-Lucky, but Ive seen the other films I mentioned.

 The only one of those I really own is In Bruges, the rest I've rented.

So there won't be much burning.

MarkWaldorf 04-01-2009 05:35 PM

I'll hack your Love Film account or what ever it's called! :blush2:

Callum 10-01-2009 02:43 PM

Going to see this tonight, can't wait.

Callum 10-01-2009 10:03 PM

Wow, it was really good. It's completely different to anything I've seen before but it was great. The actor from Skins was good in it, he played the character well. It's one of those films that I'd see again, and that rarely happens with me.

Emilee 11-01-2009 07:12 PM

I went to see it today. My friend forced me to see it. It was a pretty good film i thought - but 'bollywoodish' though.

The only thing bollywood about it to me was the end credits where they all got together to dance. I hope they win some awards tonight!

Tom4784 12-01-2009 12:50 PM

I really wanna watch this it seems excellent.

Film4 regurlary make reviewed films, just because they're not mainstream doesn't mean they're not good! :spin2:

James 12-01-2009 01:49 PM

Dev Patel is the half-brother of Nicky Maxwell from BB8. Just a useless piece of information for you there. :spin2:

Sam! 14-01-2009 09:00 PM

I watched it today with my girlfriend and I think it was really good :) The girl he ends up with, forgot his name is gorgeous. lolll in your sig melanie, I love that bit.

Callum 15-01-2009 04:19 PM

katie_x 11-02-2009 12:51 PM

AMAZING! Such a feel good film. I love that it had a happy ending too

Sarah. 11-02-2009 11:18 PM

I saw it today.. I was expecting it to be rubbish but I actually really liked it. A lot different to films I'd normally like. Confused me at first though lol.

NettoSuperstar! 02-03-2009 02:45 PM
