Living In The Sticks Suckss!!

I hate living where i do, im trying to get Girls Aloud tickets for their tour next year but i have no way of getting there!

Trains stop running late at night...
Cant drive yet...
Folks wont take me...
And bus tours are booked up...!

Anyone else going??

pinkmichk 27-12-2008 06:40 PM

could you get a b&b or holiday inn type place for the night then travel next day

MarkWaldorf 27-12-2008 06:40 PM

Whats 'sticks'? lol

*is a city kid*

I had a similar problem when I wanted to go to the NIA in Birmingham to something which finished really late. There was no way for me to get home at all, so I had to end up getting a hotel for the night.

Only problem was I thought the event was at O2 arena, so booked a hotel near there. On the day I realised it was actually at the NIA, and the two are 25 miles apart :puzzled:

Hotel is your best bet like pinkmichk said. Grab some friends and make a night of it

sticks = middle of nowhere where people ride in tractors and go to barn dances for fun.... :laugh3:

AngRemembered 27-12-2008 06:44 PM

some people will do anything to get out of a Girls Aloud gig:tongue:

I'm more aless the same!
although Plymouth has the Pavilions and has some really good acts playing there, the more well known ones play at bigger venues. The nearest is Bristol... 3 Hours away.

Yep, my same problem, nearest venue is sheffield arena.

I think i might have to look for a hotel like you all say. will cost a bomb though!

Nicky. 27-12-2008 06:48 PM

Get a hotel I'd say :) Or a B&B :)

The nearest venue to me is Liverpool when I go to concerts.. which is like an hour away.. so like, I either ask mum nicely or go with a friend and get a lift of them

Hotels can be really cheap, try a Travelodge. Although you should book early, all the hotels anywhere near the venue for TT in Manchester were gone in about 2 seconds. I'm miles away

Are you going to a city venue? If it was somewhere relatively near to the edge of the countryside then you could book a pitch on a campsite.

Yeah I know what it was like, and when I come home I still have this problem a bit. Irregular buses, can't drive, no shops nearby. Has advantages and disadvantages.
Was a major motivator for going to uni lol.
