So its alright to show the 9 o clock show with swearing in it , thats backwards.

Brekkie 09-01-2009 10:24 PM

It's the worlds worst catchphrase and I really wish she'd ditch it.

The irony is she only really started using it after the show moved to after 9pm.

Im sure she has used it since BB1

Brekkie 09-01-2009 10:42 PM

Nope. BB1 was just "Big Brother House, This is Davina. Can you all here me?" and then she'd add lib a bit - it was much more informal really.

The first time I think she used it was during the surprise eviction at the end of BB2, and then again for the surprise eviction in the first week of BB3. She never used it regularly though, and even if she did use it for the pre-watershed announcements (I don't think she did though), she dropped it for the post-watershed announcements for the actual eviction.

There is no need to swear, and its just something to say, shes not saying anything wrong shes dis-encouraging swearing whats wrong with that?

Brekkie 09-01-2009 11:04 PM

It's patronising telling a group of adults not to swear - and to the viewers who've just sat through an hour of housemates swearing every other word.

If it needs to be said BB should say it to the HMs before Davina crosses live to the house.

I'll quote one from BB2 (eviction 2) - I'd link to the vid itself but as C4 are being complete bastards over YouTube vids I won't:

Quote:

"Big Brother House. This is Davina. Can you here me?"

Yeah

"This week you nominated Stuart and Paul for eviction. The nation has been voting and the result of the second eviction vote are now in. They've been checked and verified by an independent adjudicator and I can now reveal that the second person to leave the Big Brother house will be...

Ba Ba Boom

"Stuart."

"You've now got an hour and half to pack your belongings and say your goodbyes. At 10.30 you'll be asked to leave the Big Brother house - do you understand?"

Yeah

"I'm now switching off"

Brekkie 10-01-2009 12:11 AM

Just checked a couple of BB3/BB4 evictions and I stand half corrected - she did use "You're live on C4, please do not swear" for the eviction announcement at the end of the 8.30pm show (before 9pm), but dropped it for the post watershed shows at 10pm.

your so wrong. i know for a fact she was doing it from bb3. because for every eviction kate lawler was doing impressions of davina. she always said that catch phrase.
big bro house this is davina you are live please do not swear.

Brekkie 10-01-2009 01:03 PM

And if you read my next post before replying you'd know I stand corrected.

It would be more rewarding to dis-encourage the booing rather than the swearing after 10pm.......Davinas childish attitude of making an adult format into kindergarden material is truly sickening........But then again it might just be CH4 telling her what to say so as to encourage parents to allow their children to watch and wast pocket money voting to line the pockets of the phone vote companies.....

*mazedsalv** 27-01-2009 06:19 AM

She always says it now.
