Being Human

Looks interesting. Will watch it in a minute; anyone seen it yet?

It's on BBC Three and features Sugar from Sugar Rush as a ghost, plus Russell Tovey (the young-ish guy from The History Boys / Doctor Who)

Tom4784 31-01-2009 01:45 AM

It's really good, I can't weait utnil the next episode.

andyman 31-01-2009 02:32 AM

Shaun 02-02-2009 10:52 PM

After watching the first two, I'm now hooked.

OH MY GODDDDD.
Is this the thing where BBC3 made 6 pilots of 6 different drams and the most popular was made in to a full on thing?

andyman 09-02-2009 09:58 PM

Watching now on bbc3, tis good!
Changing the ghost was a good move... Me likes.

andyman 23-02-2009 12:17 AM

WOW!! Fantastic episode! Last one next week and looks good, hope the bbc give it another series.

Tom4784 23-02-2009 12:29 AM

This weeks episode was fantastic, I was nearly screaming at the telly. I can't wait untill next week.

andyman 23-02-2009 12:35 AM

Vampy was not shown in the next weeks preview, dont thing she was aswell :-(
I hope she stays away from that door and he lives.. Her ex might become a vamp due to being at the police station and knowing about stuff.

I was thinking the same about Owen, I thought Herrick was gonna get him. I'm pretty sure Annie won't go through the door and Mitchell's gonna live I think.

andyman 23-02-2009 12:42 AM

Hope so, maybe it missed his heart.. They should have made that the last episode of this series and teased us with a date of the 2nd series.. But they never:sad: maybe no plans for a 2nd series, but the vamps cant be stopped in one episode! Lol.

I'm guessing Herrick's gonna die and that'll disband the vampires. That way they can have a new potential Vampire villain in later series.

Shaun 24-02-2009 01:43 AM

The last episode is possibly the best hour's viewing of television I've ever experienced. I've laughed, I've cried, I've been screaming at the TV. Action, comedy, people I hate and a great cliffhanger.

Aaaaaah!

George's camp chair-throw made me lmao. But Annie leaving made me :'(

This HAS to be commissioned for a second series.

Ross 24-02-2009 01:46 AM

I love Being Human it makes me sexwee.

andyman 24-02-2009 06:09 AM

Some fan put this together showing clips from the pilot..

Great news. According to a Facebook Update I get:

Quote:

Being Human, the critically acclaimed hit BBC Three drama, chronicling the somewhat complicated lives of a vampire, a werewolf and a ghost living in modern-day Bristol, made by Touchpaper Television, part of the RDF Media Group, has been recommissioned for another eight-part series.

The eagerly awaited current series, which followed a much-loved pilot of the twenty-something drama, concludes this Sunday 1 March.

Starring Russell Tovey (Little Dorrit, Doctor Who, The History Boys) Lenora Crichlow (Sugar Rush, Doctor Who) and Aidan Turner (The Clinic), Being Human attracted a high of over one million viewers and rave reviews.

Being Human has also enjoyed multiplatform success, being the most watched programme on BBC iPlayer for its first two episodes, as well becoming one of the best performing BBC websites.

Danny Cohen, Controller BBC Three, says: "I'm thrilled that we are recommissioning Being Human. It's hugely popular with young viewers and earned great critical acclaim at the same time.

"It's also a very important staging-post in the successful development of home-grown young drama on BBC Three."

Ben Stephenson, Controller BBC Drama Commissioning, added: "I am very excited Being Human is returning for a second series. It's a distinctive modern series that has captured the imagination of the BBC Three audience in terms of strong viewer loyalty and critical acclaim, signalling a real breakthrough for drama on the channel."

Rob Pursey, Executive Producer for Touchpaper Television, says: "'We already have some very exciting, very dark new stories up our sleeves, so we're delighted to have the opportunity to make a second series of Being Human.

"BBC Three has been a brilliant platform for us to mount an unusual and ambitious drama."

Being Human is written by Toby Whithouse (Being Human pilot, Torchwood, Doctor Who), produced by Matthew Bouch (The Sarah Jane Adventures, Being Human pilot), directed by Toby Haynes (M.I. High, Spooks Code 9), Alex Pillai (Wire In The Blood) and Colin Teague (Torchwood, Doctor Who), and executive produced by Rob Pursey, Touchpaper Television (City Of Vice, Sold) and Julie Gardner, Head of Drama for BBC Wales.

Fantastic!!!!! I hope nobody dies on sunday, i want the same cast back... Oh and she better stay away from that flippin door!

andyman 01-03-2009 09:08 PM

Great! Amazing... The 3 are alive and kicking! Woohoo!!

Shaun 01-03-2009 11:56 PM

Watching it at the moment. Loving Annie kicking vampire ass.

And was sad how the woman (who Mitchell dated in the 60s) died

Tom4784 02-03-2009 12:08 AM

It was a good episode, not as good as last week's though. I liked Annie going all Dark Phoenix on the vampires and i thought Mitchell and his 60's girlfriend part was well done. I kinda feel that the reveal about Nina at the end of the episode was kinda pointless (why did she act the way she did when she saw George if she was a werewolf herself?) but then again let's see how it developes.

The last scene was very interesting, a good hook for the next series.

Shaun 02-03-2009 12:11 AM

I was hoping for a cliffhanger  I suppose the bit with Nina was one...was she self-harming? :conf2: And Owen's so obviously going to be bitten and become the next villain for Series 2.

But...great ending to the series nonetheless.

Now I have only Heroes and Desperate Housewives to look out for

It's a werewolf scratch I think. I definately agree with you that Owen's gonna become supernatural.
