News coverage of the snow

Seriously, you'd think its never snowed before. Also there is more to the country than just London, Sussex etc

Its the worst says my Dad who is 45 years old lol.... in Italian News they mentioned the snow here as a big story too.

Spike 02-02-2009 05:53 PM

I know, it makes me laugh that we have a few inches of snow and it the biggest story of the week
I suppose more emphasis is on London and the south as its more rare to snow there than the north.

I agree, although when it snowed in Decemberish time, when Manchester completely shut down and there was crashes everywhere the news didn't shut up about it.
But that was only local, when it happens to london, it hits the news in the whole country... why?!

I could not care less if busses stop in London! Not our problem the council down south is rubbish at organizing gritters!

Thats what I mean- no problem with local news going on about it but is it really necessary for the national news to dedictate an entire half hour bulletin to the snow in the south like ITV just have?

ARGHH! i know! I watched the news on that 'text' button program thing and not once did it show my area!

pinkmichk 02-02-2009 06:14 PM

not watched the tv news but the radio coverage has been bad enough with updates (which were just repeats of what had been said) every 15 minutes

hannah. 02-02-2009 06:15 PM

oi!
DONT YOU BADMOUTH SUSSEX!

Scarlett. 02-02-2009 06:20 PM

Better than hearing about the damn recession

Xander 02-02-2009 06:22 PM

You'd think there were terrorist attacks with the amount news coverage its been getting.

30stone 02-02-2009 06:30 PM

It was like that about 2 years ago severe weather warning and that quite a few inches of snow are meant to come, things were being bought from supermarkets just before and we got what 2 inches or less..

Iceman 02-02-2009 08:49 PM

Over here in Dublin they had a guy on the news saying it's dreadful the way some roads have been closed. what does he expect, they've had gritters here all day long. You'd swear the Irish Government planned this just so it would happen to him. Rant over!

Deirdre 02-02-2009 09:01 PM

That's because it's the biggest snowfall in 18 years:wink:

BigBrotherfan4ever 03-02-2009 06:04 PM

Funiest thing about yesterday was, here in Glasgow, Scotland, the scottish news was on & the news reader was talking about the weather down south & say how bad it was, & then she went on to say, that here in Glasgow we wont see in & right behind her was a window with the snow chucking in it down:laugh2:
