It was confirmed in 2002 there would be more Monkey Island games but it's been 7 years and still no news.

There's a new Monkey Island game coming this year from the original creator. They are doing the thing where the story continues after Monkey Island 2, and not the more recent games.

I used to love those games back in the day. Some of the best music too.

I played Thimbleweed Park which was a throwback point-and-click adventure by the same person, but to be honest I found it a little dated. They seem to be using better graphics here though.

Wait, didn't Monkey Island 2 end with it all being a drram/imaginary or something? He was just a kid at a theme park and tge villain was his older brother... Or something. Literally about 25 years ago that I played these so my memory may not be the best :joker:.

I loved point n clicks back in the day though. Fate of Atlantis, Flight of the Amazon Queen, Kings Quest/Space Quest et al. on the Amiga 1200 then later on PC things like Day of the Tentacle, Sam & Max, Full Throttle... :flutter:

Yeah, I never liked that ending much. The idea that the whole thing was the figment of the character's imagination. Although it does hint that he is actually still under the spell of the villain LeChuck.

Hmmm, now that you mention it I do remember a "last minute villain cackle" that suggested that.

Apparently some people don't like the character designs and have been letting the creator know that.

They're a little bit "Ben and Holly's Little Kingdom" aren't they.
