Scottish Independence! Yeah or Nay?
 

I am a strong supporter of Scottish Independence.

Just wanted to know how people feel over this debate?

We would fail on our own. Sorry but its true. I would love it if we could be independant but it wouldnt work.

No we wouldn't!!

Did you know that there is huge oil field which is bigger than the North sea oil field which belongs totally to Scotland. and it won't be touched til scotland become independent!!

Well Scotland wouldnt survive on their own because of many factors. These factors include

1- All the men are mistaking themeleves for women, as they wear skirts with no underwear.
2 - They would die of starvation as they constantly chase 3-legged sheep around hills thinking this is their food.
3 - It is up north, and it will be the first to be hit by a hurricane.
4 - It wouldnt have a stabalised government, as the prime minister would get done for publicly showing themselevs in the nude, and their kilts would fall down reveling his sausage.

Thats my theory of why Scotland cannot survive on its own.

Nay. It won't happen for a few reasons. For a start Scottish telly after independence would be rubbish. :spin2:

1. did you know that Scottish men were force during WW1 by English soldiers to wear there Kilts in the trenches. and in doing so their knees would be slit open with the ice gathered around the hem, thus subjecting them to more illnesses

2. 3 legged sheep!! hmm at least we don't force our kids to sing Baa Baa Rainbow Sheep instead of Baa Baa Black sheep.

3. Already got hit by a Category 5 Hurricane in January 2007!! 156mph wind and Survived!!!!

4. At least we don't have, quote. "a one eyed scottish idiot" who only pretends to be scottish when it suits him running the country!!!

That's My theory of why Scotland needs to be SET FREE!!!

I dot know much about it! So let me ask you, what would be the economic ramifications? HOw would it affect jobs, and the value of the currency?

And secondly, how do people feel about it? If there were a referendum, would it be in favor of independance?

I dont honestly know the answer to these, so am just asking!

Economy. Huge oil field which could potentially earn scotland Billions every year!!

replacing what the Thatcher years took away from Scotland and Gave to the rest of the world!!
Shipbuilding, IT, maufactured goods etc etc Jobs would more than likely increase with the way Economy would go!

Currency would more that likely change to €uro. so that it would be easier to sell oil. manufactured goods etc etc!!

they came into power last May (08) and after the mess that labour got the UK into right now. support in labour will hav dropped.

I'm born and bred Scottish and i know it could work but people like you need to support it!!!!!

I'll Just throw Something else in to support scotland and tell you that the money earned from scottish oil subsedises everyone in the UK by the sum of £6000 every year. where as england is only subsedises everyone by £500 every year!!!

Apart from the rubbish TV :wink: we would get (which is a big reason for most people) why would we want border controls, passports to get into England, import taxes levied against Scottish exports/English imports, restrictions on Scottish people working in England etc? All are possible if independence happened.

Looks like I am in an unpatriotic mood, lol.
