I need Mouse help

The mouse touch pad thing on my laptop has suddenly stopped working... I have to take all my effort and click manually 2cm down... :P It doesn't sound like a big problem but it is so annoying and I have no idea why the touch pad thing won't work.. Any thoughts?

Try earthing yourself on a water pipe or a radiator. Sometimes static electricity builds up in your body and it stops the mouse pad working.

Look for a Touch Pad icon at the bottom-right of the screen (or Start / Control Panel). There might be an option to turn it back on - might have got accidentally switched off.

I sometimes just bang it...

It works. Always stops at important moments... Like when I am about to beat my top score on Spider Solitaire..

But eh Red's idea sounds the best.
