I've been in one since January 5th and its still going :joker:

I've been in one since I got Facebook, however long ago that was... a few months now :|

Is that the poking thing on the right? I've had pokes since I joined but I don't know what they're for...

Nothing, they just come up saying ____ has poked you

You're meant to poke them back or something.

I think the idea of them was so someone could get the attention of someone else. Either flirtatiously, or just a random poke.

Also, you can poke people you're not friends with so I think it's meant to be the modern-day olive branch.
