What did you put it down on? Something hot?

It's best not to plug it in, just incase it does spark or something. Leave it for tonight. Plug it in tomorrow when you're there and keeping an eye on it.

Or you could always just plug it in at a friends instead (Muaha)

Have you took the battery out and had a look at it?

yeah! and the battery looks fine.. the whole of the inside looks fine... even the other side that looks like its melted is fine.. :conf2:

If the battery itself is fine, it's unlikely it'll catch fire.

It's very weird, I guess there could've been a sudden spark in the circuit inside, but for it to have a specific area of damage is really weird.

I just dont want to be asleep and it catch on fire... so i turned it off.. i dunno what else to do.. i need to use this phone tomorrow..

Take the battery out as well, just to be on the safe side.

Is there no alternative/older phone you can use tomorrow instead?

Tom 22-02-2009 11:12 PM

if its on contract take it back when you can and see what they say

also because its a sony ericsson if you need an alarm it will go off anyway whether youre phone is switched on or not so leave it off over night to save the battery

Yes, or an unblocked phone. Take your pick.

Just take it to a 3 shop and ask for a new phone or what is wrong with it.
Good luck. :)
