Terminally-Ill Jade Goody To Have Op Tonight Terminally-ill Jade Goody is to have surgery on her bowel this evening, her publicist Max Clifford has said.
The reality TV star, who has just weeks to live after her cervical cancer spread, returned to hospital last night because of crippling stomach pains.
"Jade underwent a series of tests and scans today and they are going to operate on her this evening," Mr Clifford said.
"Hopefully the operation will relieve the pain and pressure she has been experiencing in her bowel.
"This operation is important because if successful it could alleviate the worst of the pain she's been experiencing.
"She will be able to start eating again and it will give her more quality of life and more quality of time."
Earlier Goody's husband, Jack Tweed, appeared before magistrates in Epping, Essex, charged with assaulting a taxi driver.
Last night Goody was taken to the Royal Marsden Hospital in Fulham, south west London, after she complained of unrelenting pain while at a hospice in Essex.
She was today transferred to the nearby Chelsea and Westminster Hospital where the operation will take place.
The 27-year-old had been due to return to her home, in nearby Upshire, on Monday.
Mr Clifford denied Goody's admission to hospital was a setback in her battle against the disease.
"It's a continuing process, but we hope they will be able to get things under control," Mr Clifford said.
He added: "She's very frightened. She was sobbing on the phone to me. She said: 'Why can't they get me out of all this pain?'."
