Gallagher slams Goody press coverage
 

Noel Gallagher has slammed constant press coverage of Jade Goody as 'embarrassing for Britain'.

The Oasis star claimed that the plight of the dying reality TV star has been given undue attention in light of the country's current economic problems.

"I was watching the TV today and they're all outside her house," he told The Sun.

"There's a global crisis apparently going on, and it's 'Jack Straw, could you have a look at this?' Max Clifford somehow manages to shape the mood of the nation.

"I mean, I’ve got ****** all against Jade Goody, that's nothing to do with me. But it bends my head. That, to me, sums up in one tiny five-minute thing on the news what an embarrassing place Britain is right now.

"You might as well shut Number 10 Downing Street down and get Max Clifford to run the country."

Clifford recently admitted that he was "instinctively" uneasy about continuing coverage of the former Big Brother contestant.

Man has a point, i think at this stage enough is enough. I mean we don't need any more updates on her, we all know whats happening. Max should step in now.

I don't think coverage will stop when Max Clifford will step in. Infact, I imagine he's probably stepped in as of recent, or will very soon. She's nearing her last days and her family need peace.

If I didn't love Oasis and agree with his outbursts, I'd probably think he was a loudmouth wanker :tongue:

I am glad, someone has the balls to say this. Everyone seem such hypocrites when it comes to the whole issue. I feel so sorry for people who are currently suffering from cancer, but havent reach this stage yet. It must be terrifying reading all the gorry details about this woman. Weather you want it or not, you have to hear or read about it. Its trully morbid, and I feel sorry for the people who like to read about them as well.

Well said Noel - and that seems to be the view of the silent majority too. I'm far more concerned about what's happening in Northern Ireland at the moment than anything that'll ever happen to Jade Goody.

He only ever slags someone off when hes got a new single or album coming out or something.

Noel is Bang On Right.

I'm glad someone has had the balls to say enough is enough. I find it very disturbing that Jade Goodys plight made the ten o'clock news three days running last week. And one of those stories was to tell the nation that she was in so much pain that she had to admitted to hosptal. Of course she's in pain she has terminally Ill cancer. It was a complete non story.

Her plight is very sad and even though she is not one of my favourite people in the world, I find her plight hearbreaking. I've already watched my best friends father die of cancer. In the space of a year he went from a burly 14 stone bloke to less than 7 stone. So I dont particualrly want to watch another person in this position. I hope for the sake of us all Jade stops the circus before it becomes too voyueristic.

Gallagher has got problems really. He hates other people who have more attention then him.

No i think noel's right. As much as i said Jade should do whatever she needs to for the kids at this stage it should stop, like other people have said theirs an economic crisis going on and theirs trouble in the north of Ireland, this needs to be reported more.

question is WHY does it get so much coverage? She wasn't a "nice" hm was she?... wasn't she loud, obnoxious and generally dumb and horrible? I think all this jade stuff has more to do with the actual people wearing the "I heart Jade" badges ....what are they trying to say about themselves?

Gallagher is right, and unfortunately he's going to receive public backlash for this.
