Is this worth reporting to the police?

In relation to the arson attack on my street

"Police said they would like to hear from a man seen in the area just prior to the incident.

He was described as white, between 25 and 35 years old, thin and wearing a distinctive light green beanie hat.

He had a Staffordshire bull terrier type dog at the time."

I held this guys dog as he tried to get in, I assumed he might have been trying to be a hero at the time (this was when the hotel was up in flames) is it worth emailing the police about? Or is it just trivial since a number of people will have noticed him?

Yeh report it mate...you held his bloody dog man!

Scarlett. 20-03-2009 01:05 PM

Lol okay, Im gonna email em

Scarlett. 20-03-2009 01:14 PM

Reported him, if only I knew this man was a suspect at the time

NettoSuperstar! 20-03-2009 01:48 PM

Well what would yer have done, a citizens arrest? lol them dogs are mental!

Scarlett. 20-03-2009 01:49 PM

Lol it seemed pretty tame at the time

Lauren 20-03-2009 01:59 PM

He might not be a suspect - they may have just seen him around and think he may have seen the suspect.

Scarlett. 20-03-2009 02:02 PM

I suppose, but people saw him hanging around the hotel before the fire

Lauren 20-03-2009 02:06 PM

Yeah, like I say - don't immediately suspect the guy. Police usually take accounts of people they saw around in case that person saw the suspect too.

Obviously you did the right thing reporting it, no doubt about that.

All Depends if you have a few hours to help Police?

You do not need to ask,
its up to you
you are not a baby now
you are a young student.

Yeah true, I did think it was a bit weird that he was trying to get into the hotel while it was up in smoke, police didnt seem to know about the incident at the front, so the info will be good for em

Lauren 20-03-2009 02:19 PM

Yeah Chewy, definitely sounds suspicious if he went back in to remove evidence or something.

Let us know how it goes! :hello:
