Wouldn't it be better for you to pick your own? It would show initiative and you would have your reasons for picking it?

Anyway, I'm sure Fom or Darenn could help with this.

I'm sure you posted this before :S
Try shakespeare.
Something out of Much Ado About Nothing, MacBeth, or Hamlet could be good.
Classical Theatre's always a tick in the box.

You should look through a book of male monologues, I have them at my college, I'm sure you could get one in your local library.

Gosh... any monologue?
There is a lot to choose from! Do you want modern or a bit older?

WoopieGeorge 11-04-2009 08:48 PM

Fom,
Ummm, Modern;

Thanks.

I have one.
It will tick the boxes of, Knowing plays other than shakespear, boldness, creativity and taste.
The final scene of "Miss Juile" it is an old play. August Strindburg wrote it, It is a fabulous play.
Just a thought.

I forgot about this thread, erm if you want modern... I will give you a list.

Have a look at 'Teechers' written by John Godber, its about a school, it has some really funny monologues.

If you want serious, 'A Pitchfork Disney' by Philip Ridley is one I used for my auditions, they like that stuff its edgy...

If you wanna do classical, try and do something else than Shakespeare, try and do some Greek Tragedy or Restoration Comedy.
Have a look at 'She stoops to conquer' (restoration) or 'Medea' (Greek)

If you want anymore just say, ive got a long list of plays I could get for you, I am just lazy... thats off the top of my head.
