My Sisters been dumped!!

Im the person that she comes to first and she came into my room crying her eyes out and told me that her bf of 15 months has dumped her.... ive actually never seen her like this because she actually loved him and he said he was in love with her too.

I was just saying that he doesnt deserve you, he's a dick and all the things a brother would say, gave her a hug and all that.

I had no idea what to do, i dont know how shes going to tell my parents and family because he was the only bf that was introduced to the family and everyone liked him. And my mum walked in on my sister crying on the phone and she's just been picked up by her best friend so they can speak, and now that im alone with my mum, she will probably ask me whats going on as im the only person thats told about everything and she'll have a feeling that i know.

Im soo angry right now, his excuse was "We've been arguing so i think we need to end it but i love you so much" what a pathetic thing to say! everyone argues!

What he's always said is that after his Mums died, that my sister is what he lives for, but on Thursday his nan died and now he decides to end it with my sister! He said no one cares for him anymore, i dont understand why he dumped my sister because she was the only one who did (along with his sister and step father)!

Im just a bit confused and angry at the same time!

I think the guy is just grieving, it's unfair on your sister though!

But this can be normal at a Break up
even though it looks Extreme.

Fom 12-04-2009 04:21 PM

His mind is probably all over the place... after just loosing his nan? I say give it time, things will heal itself. (We hope eh?)

Iceman 12-04-2009 04:23 PM

Yeah i think he'll be okay, when my Mother died i didn't talk to my friends at all for about 2 months, but then i realised i needed them, I think your Sister might be better as a friend right now rather than a girlfriend!

Before this, she's never had a serious relationship, even though she's only 19 and he's 18, they've always talked about moving in together, getting engaged ect... it was a very serious relationship.

They've argued and everything before, but i dont understand, he's always said "He will never stop loving her and will never dump her" because he "needs" her. My sister (overheard their phonecall) said "Cant we work at it? People go through this all the time, if we love each other we can get through this" and he was having none of it... it sounded quite harsh too, they were having a convo for about 10 mins before and then he dropped the dumping in!

Christina 12-04-2009 04:25 PM

Ahh, people do and say weird things when someone they love dies expecially a nan. He probably is just grieving and has taken it out on your sis, which of course isn't fair on her. Hopefully they sort it out and get back together, he sounds like he needs her.

Billy 12-04-2009 04:25 PM

Don't do anything.
Leave it up to her to do what she has to, she'll get over it soon enough, but in the meantime you just have to be there for her really :)

Fom 12-04-2009 04:27 PM

If anything your sister should still support him as a friend even if he has dumped her unfairly... he needs the closest friends he can get, he probably just cant deal with the arguing on top of all the losses.

True, but it just doesnt seem like they will get together at all, he seems to have made 100% his mind and made it clear.
and i got along with him well, so im in a bit of a hard position, but Billy i agree with you too, I just need to be there for her, I'll be the only person to know for quite a while, so i dont know how i can keep it from my parents from finding out.... :conf2:

Tom 12-04-2009 04:29 PM

Don't be angry or do anything if his nana has died, his head is probably screwed

Pointless break ups tend to sort themselves out, maybe he just wants space especially if they always argue, it could be something he just doesn't need atm

He told her he doesnt want to see her because he cant see her without being with her... so it doesnt look like they will be friends at the moment.

Yeah, I agree with this.

Give it time and it might sort itself out.

Maybe try and avoid them? Or just say maybe they're going through a bit of a bad patch atm. It probably looks like they won't get back together but i have a feeling they may. Just cos everyone goes a bit weird when a loved one dies. Just be there for her, i'm sure that's what you're already doing

Damn, im close to my whole family, so i will just have to try and run away from them lol, I cant keep a straight face when people question me, Its all in my face, I can imagine me just walking away when they ask me the question lol. I told my sister before she left "I cant keep a straight face, you know what im like" she told me to say that i dont know anything.

It doesn't mean he's made his mind up, he just thinks he has. I've been in that position a few times and came round and realised what a pr*ck I've been to someone for no reason, so give it a few days whilst he clears his head and that and I'm sure it will all be fine

Poor her, Give her some flowers to cheer her up.

andyman 12-04-2009 04:44 PM

18 and 19?... Both are young, and no 18 year old male wants to be married..

It sounds like she loves him more, love can be an illness that make us do silly things, bet if he clicks his fingers she will come running!

And this is not the end of the world.

Yepp its very young and very strange, its a bit weird to me.
and its actually the other way round, he's always said that he loves her, and my sister before was like "Okayy...." and didnt respond, I do genuinley think that he is really in love with her... and i doubt about the whole click fingers thing, she's very feirce and does not like to be controlled... as we come from a really tough family.

I do genuinley think he loves her more than she loves him, but i dont know.
i told her to get over him and give him space because of his nan, and i hope she moves from this if they dont get back together.

umm onfused.com for me...:conf: never been on that site but hmm

andyman 12-04-2009 04:57 PM

Nah, with what you have wrote it sounds like she loves him more, many people put up a front, your sister might do that alot but with her heart being broken it was too much to keep inside..
Time will heal and maybe they will get back together, don't worry about it.

maybe yeah its how i wrote it, but he seemed way to into her for an 18 year old, even my family say it. I kind of dont want them back together, i mean being honest i doubt it will last forever, they will fight, and then he it will happen again, i dont think she would want to get back together with him tbh now... i will just tell her to move on as theres so many good guys out there, not saying he was a bad guy, he was kind and all that, but i do think they have been too much for the last 15 months.

also yet again i will be the first person to know and be introuduced to he new bf if they never get back together, I love knowing things before everyone else, i had to keep the secret that he was with him for 4 months because my family is very strict with her, not with me though. So when my family found out that i knew for 4 months they were a bit pissed that i didnt tell them lol

Girls often never think the most common sense of things...
Love does hurt, you gotta learn from it.
Best thing you can do for her is to make sure she rises above it and moves on and is comfortable with herself and strong before dating again.
Then she has to come to terms with, love will hurt again, more than likely, its just about expecting it, and knowing that the good times in the future will outweigh the heartbreak. - The juice is worth the squeeze.

You sound like a good guy, she can rely on. Don't say too much to ur mum, its a girly thing and it happens in life. just say that to ur mum and ur mum will do her own thing which will more than likely be helpful to ur sister :)

hope that helps
