Stars hail telly\'s Seth
 

TRIBUTES yesterday poured in for Emmerdale's Stan Richards, who has died aged 74.

Stan, who played loveable rogue Seth Armstrong for 27 years, passed away in his sleep.

Paula Tilbrook - his partner Betty Eagleton in the ITV1 soap - said: "Stan was completely irreplaceable and a unique character.

"I worked with him for 11 years and will remember the laughter."

Tim Fee, an Emmerdale producer, said: "This is a tragic loss and we are all deeply saddened."

Stan started in showbiz at 15 as a pianist and stand-up comic. He died on Friday at home in Barnsley, South Yorks.
