'EastEnders' axes new Moon brothers

Jake and Danny Moon have been axed from EastEnders after just three months on screens.

The brothers, played by Joel Beckett and Jake Maskall, will bow out this summer as part of an "explosive" storyline.

The move comes as the soap seeks to resposition itself away from its gangster-led plotlines, which has been attributed as one of the reasons for its recent ratings slump.

"Both Joel and Jake have brought considerable talent and energy to the show," said an EastEnders spokesperson.

"This decision is no reflection on them, it's just the way the programme is going at the moment. We thank them for all their hard work and wish them every success for the future."

If they axe many more people there wont be anyone there. Still the gorgeous Nigel Harman is coming back!!

The programme is definitely going downhill at the moment.

They should try getting rid of the boring old people... no names mentioned

Why don't they just axe eastenders and save the world from such an awful program. :devil:

i agree with bananarama ... east enders is rubblish

It's been gradually going downhill for about 2 years, nothing makes sense anymore and the storylines are pointless. Doom and gloom it's deadenders.

I like Jake and Danny! i can fink of many ova people who shud b leaving insted of thm! And i like eastenders 2!! but corrie is better! x

i think kat should come back and they should drop garry and tina and the tinky family except rosie and the lassie dot is way to funny and a ledgend to be axed same wae pat and pauline i hate the fact that alfie left :bawling:

Kat is coming back, who are the tinky family? Alfie has not left.

the tinky family are the millers i think.

they should get rid of tina, alfie, chrissie,jake amd the slaters.

they should not bring kat back

i agree,they shouldn't bring the orange one back,but for some reason,they seem to think the show can't go on without her,i think it's been better,since she's been gone:spin:

Not really a BIG eastenders fan myself but still know enough about the show to realise the characters your talking about should stay, why did'nt you mention some of the old characters? i.e Pauline, Dot because their just plain boring..

the older charachters are the bedrock of any soap.

see ken barlow in corrie. the show revolvesaround him.

so EE revolves around pauline.

i agree that they should bin dot though.

I dont disagree - just saying that the older characters have had their time.
