If your urine smells of sugarpuffs (it's a known thing) - then you're either frequently dehydrated, or are at risk/have diabetes...

So it's not the sugarpuffs, it's you!! :laugh3: (Not laughing at you potentially having diabetes btw lmao).

Gemmer-x 08-05-2009 08:02 PM

No.. i don't need sugar, i'm sweet enough  Ha!

I have been diagnosed recently as having type 2 diabetes and I can confirm that sometimes urine does have that smell. I had noticed it before. I suspect it is because the blood glucose level has spiked and that is what is coming out in the urine.

Glucose is a form of sugar, possibly similar to the one used on that particular breakfast cereal.

If this is a regular occurance, you need to ask your physician to do a starving glucose test. This will indicate if you have diabetes.

No one should be eating the empty marketing calories of Sugar Puffs.

that is not food it is obesity and money in a box.

giving it to children is child abuse

Sticks. did you eat a lot of sugar in your diet prior to being diagnosed, ie over many years?

30stone 26-02-2010 09:57 AM

Never tried it lol,
Dont even like sugar puffs.

bettiepage 26-02-2010 01:02 PM

Actually no

I did not put any sugar on cereal, went for diet sodas , did not put sugar or any sweetener in my hot drinks and the cereal I went for was as far as I know were mostly the healthy ones

I did eat chocolate bars and sweets from time to time, so that may have done it.

I must point out, this also runs in my family, with my mother and brother having it.

BTW if any mods a watching, maybe we could stream this side track to its own thread about diabetes, if anyone thinks this is a thread hijack

I often wonder if the "runs in the family" thing is more about diet than genetics. My grandfather and father had and have diabetes so it is of interest.

Sugar Puffs are awful...one of the worst cereals...

Lewis. 26-02-2010 08:17 PM

God, Have not had Sugarpuffs for months. It's all about cinnamon grahams for me now. I love them so much.. but I have to buy my own, my mum hates them. £2 a box from ASDA but if needs must be

Claymores 27-02-2010 08:44 AM

Is this a pocket money thread? Don't get too hyper on sugar or caffeine kids - it'll only lead to worse abuses once you become a teeny/
