University Points/Grades

I want to go to Uni in 2010 and the course I want to take needs a B-B-C entry requirement. Now does this mean I actually need a B B and a C or just the points equivilent to those grades because in all seriousness I will actually have...

Media A Level - B
Film Studies A Level - B
Communications AS - B
Psychology AS - D
French AS - D

You could contact the admissions department for the course you're applying for and ask for clarification on the entry requirements.
Often, it doesn't matter on specific grades but points, for example, an offer I got from a university was "300 points from 3 A-Levels" which is the same as BBB or ABC or even AAD.
You may find however that they will only count points you have got from full A-Levels and not include AS points, so be careful.

They should give you ucas points, it is easier to work out when you use points.

No, unfortunately not. If a university offers BBC, then they want 3 FULL a levels at those grades. That is basically to stop people doing 5 or 6 AS levels to gain the equivalent number of point. You'll need to keep another one on to A2.

EDIT: it will say on the website/prospectus if they'll take points, e.g. some will put:
Typical offer: AAB or 340 points.

But others will say
Typical offer: AAB

and others:
Typical offer: 340 points

So it really depends on the university, but a 3 grade offer means 3 full a levels
