Annoying things about BGT

I love the show but this really irritates me :(

1) Subtle SuBo preferention: i.e. they gave her about 5 more seconds extra time last night, etc. Really subtle things so you'll remember her.
2) The sob stories
3) Putting through some rubbish acts into the semi-finals (like the fat burlesque dancer) for entertainment value rather than genuine talent; like that drummer yesterday
4) How they put people together every night; the person at the end of the heats ALWAYS gets into the final (see series 2) and they put bloody Susan Boyle there

It's obvious BGT want SuBo to win but it just feels unfair. I like supporting the underdog

Loukas 24-05-2009 12:53 PM

The show has become a race to second place. It's s*** now. No point in watching because Susan has won.

30stone 24-05-2009 12:54 PM

Support Sue!!!

Violin <3

EDIT: Susan hasn't won yet, imo her popularity has peaked, and will slowly drop, i hope anyway.

SiaSiaSia 24-05-2009 12:56 PM

I hope so

Tonight I wonder who'll get in?

SuBo obvs.

But the ones who have a chance are; violinist, diversity and the really cute young girl

andyman 24-05-2009 12:57 PM

Susan does not need to win BGT, the woman can sing, and much better than the bints in the pop charts! Maybe you don't like her because she aint slim and pweeeeeety..

There are some great acts that could win, but for Susan she will do bigger and better things long after cheap tack BGT.

'Conor 24-05-2009 12:58 PM

susan isnt even the best like shaheen nd flawless are way better

Brad* 24-05-2009 01:00 PM

The things that I find annoying are:

- The sob stories.

- When they put a **** act through to the next round for the entertainment (like Darth Jackson).

- When it is predictable that the next act they show will be good or bad. The run of previous bad acts is almost certainly building up to a good/fantastic act. The predictably is annoying as hell.

- During the clips where they show several people who have got through or were rubbish, they only show between two and ten seconds of each act, so you barely see any of it (I know that they have a lot to cram into the shows but it still annoys me).

- When someone makes you cringe (like a horribly awful singer or a rubbish dancer).

\PJ/ 24-05-2009 01:07 PM

I have not watched it since last year.

LemonJam 24-05-2009 01:07 PM

The main thing I hate is how some acts are *****d up so much whereas some actually really talented acts don't get through because they haven't been promoted as much by the show.

For example, last year I LOVED Irresistable, the trio of woman singers that sang Candyman, they were completley in tune and sang it just perfectly and put on a flawless performance. However, because they had had basically no media coverage people just saw them as an act and not as a winner.

this is why we all know who is going to win this year

I am telling you right now, Susan Boyle will not win BGT. I think Flawless already have it in the bag.

Tom 24-05-2009 01:36 PM

Andrew Johnston. Need I say any more?

Susan won't win. I think Aidan will, maybe Diversity.

I hope Sue makes it through tonight but I think Susan will be on last so will make it through (last act always did last year) and then it will be Diversity and Natalie in the judges vote.

Spike 24-05-2009 01:36 PM

I agree
I really dislike BGT but somehow I end up watching it
Most of the acts aren't talented imo and those who are aren't featured enough with the foucs on Amanda's reaction instead.
The judging panel doesn't work, Piers and Amanda are just pointless and shouldn't be judging anyone. I am a fan of Simon but he doesn't fit in well to the show either, the panel just doesn't work
And overall the show just screams low quality compared to other talent shows, it just seems very basic and pointless with very obvious, predictive editing

Amanda is amazing and you know it, then again I dunno why either are judging talent.

30stone 24-05-2009 01:38 PM

When little kids/ goodlooking guys get loads of votes when they are average.

The drummer boy was average, my mates as good as him easily.

I think the panel is good, though when Kelly Brook was on it it had a much more positive (and imo better) feel. Why they axed her I'll never know. I don't buy into it slowing the show down. If it was because of a possible tie, then 4 semi finals and 4 judges? The judges take it in turns to lose their vote each day would be a good solution.

I think it was because they didn't think it worked with four people?

Shaun 24-05-2009 01:41 PM

There's a very simple formula to each show.

1) Include an ugly person, who, SHOCK HORROR, has talent!
2) Include so-called "feuding" between the judges, where, HAHA, Amanda and Piers put someone through that Simon doesn't like! Hahahaha!
3) Include a child. AWWW.
4) Include a dog! AWW!

Voila.

LemonJam 24-05-2009 01:42 PM

Oh yeah and INSTRUMENTALISTS!!!!

I could play what Escala were playing and I'm only Grade 6 Violin, it's not difficult to play at all.

Julian Smith had an incredibly easy piece, probably Grade 2/3 standard.

And the Drummer boy last night, sure he'd only been playing for a year, but he wasn't stand out brilliant at all.

Sue Son is good though, but I know a few people who can play to her standard or higher.

Wildcat! 24-05-2009 01:42 PM

It will finish just like American Idol and Adam Lambert this year. They pimped him so much, that the voters turned on him and Simon in the finale.

I predict Susan will get to the final, obviously because of all the publicity. BUt it will back fire when its her against another act. All the supporters of the people who didnt get any publicity, will vote for whoever is in the finale with Susan.
So basically, she is gonna finish 2nd!

Escala were sexy thoughh!!!

bananarama 26-05-2009 06:37 PM

This year in particular the judges have scored a turky. Putting so many obviously rubbish acts in the semi finals.....Such a shame for the talent they have rejected.....and a shame for the viewers........

Susan is a great singer but I would not bet that she will win......It seems that twitch body jerk dancing and playing ugly statues is all the craze at the mo.........They are speciality acts and good ones but to call them dancers is ridiculous. A rubbish winner last year and I am afraid it will be the same this year.....

Repeating the phone numbers so annoying why not have the number on screen throughout the show.
